The Bear Cave is no frills. Doesn’t need to be. It has a wonderful feeling to it. It feels like vacation at Bear lake.
We ate there twice while on a family trip in the area. The milkshakes were great. The burgers were great. I like the milkshake at the Bear Cave more than I did down in Garden City. There is a great sitting area just to the east of the burger establishment with picnic tables and shade. Lots of grass. There was cornhole set up if you wanted to play. They do have two unisex bathrooms. They were clean. Bathrooms are very rustic, for lack of a better word. It does look like they clean them and they had soap and paper towels.
If you are on the north end of the lake looking for a burger I would recommend this establishment

Ate here with my friends on a Saturday afternoon. The burgers were most excellent, there was a small line that moved reasonably fast. They no longer serve tater tots but the fries were good. The restaurant is take out only though they do have shaded outdoor seating. It’s a great place to visit while on the north shore of Bear Lake.

The bear cave was phenomenal! The burgers are all char-grilled and the fries were some of the best fries I’ve had in a long time! Perfect little burger shop for a meal after exploring the Minnetonka Caves!

Delicious! We got chicken tenders and the chicken cordon bleu sandwich. They gave us free water cups and free fry sauce. I loved the outdoor seating. Great stop!

We stopped by at about 5:00 on a Monday night and there wasn’t a line. Our family of 6 ordered 5 pizza burgers, 1 chicken strip & fries, 2 cheesy tots, 1 normal tot, 1 fry, 1 onion ring, 2 banana cream pie shakes, 1 Tropical Charlie shake, 1 Butterfinger shake, 1 Cookie dough shake, and 1 Carmel cashew. Whew!
The girl who took our order was amazing! She was extremely nice and was all smiles. She got everything right and didn’t forget anything.
Everyone says the wait time is really long, but our food was done in 20 minutes or so (and we ordered A LOT).
We snagged a picnic table around back and devoured our food. They didn’t have napkins, so I had to grab some paper towel from the bathroom (yes, they have bathrooms).
We loved our food and will visit again soon. I’ll probably try something other than the pizza burger though.

We had our family reunion this past weekend up around Bear Lake. We stopped by and tried Bear Cave after going to the Minnetonka ice caves. We liked it so much we went again the next day after going to the lake!
I had never heard of a pizza burger before, but Pizza and burger…why not try it? And it actually turned out to be really good! It could have used more sauce but ♂️
The shakes were good as well, especially the berry shakes.

Jalapeño burger was tasty! I always love the tater tots too. If you know this area well you know that there aren’t many good options! I would compare bear cave to Carl’s Jr. (Not a knock on the food) it always tastes really good because we’re really hungry after getting off the lake. Great outdoor seating.

The food is very good, we have tried almost all the food and we liked it, my wife loves shakes, my children love chicken strips and I love hamburgers. The place has parking, a small area for outdoor dining. The service of the workers is very good, very friendly and helpful, whenever we go to Bear Lake, we like to eat in this place. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The cook was wearing an actual gas mask you guys! The black smoke inside was so thick and toxic- we had a hard time standing at the window to order. There’s no way this place is meeting standards. The girls working were actively trying to fix a very small fan that was their only means of ventilation. The smoke leeched into our shake and food. Even the Diet Coke we got – everything tasted like charred tar ?! How does ice cream come to taste like that?! We waited almost an hour for our food and only waited behind one person in line. We over heard the employees complaining about customers that were complaining about how long things were taking. The outdoor picnic tables were extremely dirty- we ordered 7 burgers, 3 fries, 1 small shake, and a medium Diet Coke. The total was $110 before a generous tip. Go somewhere else and someone find the number of the agency in charge of policing these places!
