Great local spot that will not disappoint. Everyone there is always pleasant, and the hot fudge sundae is loaded with delicious hot fudge. They have new winter hours and we arrived 10 minutes early, can you believe they opened early just for us? That never happens in this day and time. Lots of fun games tucked around the corner. It is my friend’s favorite sweet treat. Oh yes, and they cater to people with allergies!!!

We stumbled upon Bean’s Ice Cream while house hunting and we’re so happy we did! The ice cream and prices were great, but the environment was even better. Everything was clean and the space was very cutely decorated and vibrant. My husband and I went with our three kids and had such a good time eating ice cream outside in their patio area. It felt very much like a little tight-knit community with (what I assumed to be) local teenagers playing corn hole, hanging out, and enjoying the weather. The young lady working the counter was sweet and patient with our kids who had a hard time picking out flavors. Loved the “party room” and can definitely see us maybe having our girls’ birthday parties there. Can’t wait to go back!

My son, nephew, and I were told by a local police officer (in passing) that this was the best ice cream place in Poquoson. We just moved here from San Antonio, Tx and was excited to try the place out. Upon walking in, we were not greeted by the 6 employees who were standing around and talking. The aesthetics of the establishment is cute, modern, and has plenty of places to sit. As we stood next to the ice cream, not one person came over to assist. Maybe they thought we were deciding – not sure. I had to walk over and ask if I were to order at the counter or by the ice cream. My nephew asked the cashier if he could add sprinkles to his float and she did not respond (but added sprinkles). The place was cute but the customer service is lackluster. I chalked it up to a new generation of customer service and thanked them for the ice cream and left. This place has obviously been around awhile and reviews are mixed with customer service. I won’t say I won’t be back, but it’s definitely still room for improvement.

Everyone in our area LOVES Beans. Well I finally went, and had a Ice Cream cookie. It was a very unique spin on the Ice Cream cookie, especially since most Ice Cream places don’t have one at all. Anyways, it was great, and they have a great atmosphere.

Really nothing special here, just the usual fixings. My biggest argument against them is that the ice cream is just Hersheys, which I find to be nothing short of an inexcusable tragedy for an ice cream shop to exist and not make their own ice cream. They still some of the good Hershey’s flavors, so it’s bearable if you are forced to go. The inside is nice, has some fun colors and a couple games, and outside they have a pleasant set up too, but it’s nothing to write home about. And honestly, their customer service is just lackluster, and not that great. I discovered last time I came that they won a Coastal VA Reader’s Choice award for best ice cream shop on the peninsula. I couldn’t believe it. That is absolutely outrageous. That award is more of a tragedy than them selling lazy Hershey’s. I would only return if I was desperate for ice cream and had no other options available (which will likely never happen). I’m sorry, Poquoson, that this is the one ice cream shop you get. Perhaps someday I will open my own shop right next door to them so I can restore the well-being of Poquoson natives in need of a real ice cream shop.
