Beans & Brews Coffee House has been around since 1993, when the Laramie family opened shop next to Salt Lake City’s beloved hangout, Liberty Park. The family refined the process of high-altitude roasting, which results in uniquely smooth coffee with intense flavor. Beans & Brews—or “Beans,” as friends call us for short—is now a staple around Utah and its friends, Idaho, Nevada and Arizona. Our guests are our reason for getting up in the morning. We love greeting regulars with their favorite drinks, made just the way they like ‘em. And we dig getting to know newcomers from all over the world and welcoming them to the Beans community. I don’t usually stop at Beans & Brews and today was an easy example as to why. I’m driving from SLC to Layton needing a pick me up. I order a drink and a sandwich. They gave me the wrong sandwich I didn’t notice until I was back on the freeway and I had given it a minute to cool down. The staff was very friendly, I’m sure it was an honest mistake. My drink was good at least.

I was on a very tight schedule but needed that coffee. Ordered the Large Frozen Mr B’s with 4x extra shots. It’s just too sweet on its on. Service was extremely slow but was hoping worth the wait. They gave me a large frozen Mr B’s without ANY coffee or the 4x shots I paid extra for. It just tasted like drinking frozen Creamer. but I didn’t have time to take it back for them to fix it. Probably won’t be going to this location again.

Seriously, phenomenal service and they literally make my drink consistently amazing every single time without fail! *coming from a fellow barista, I can tell you the key is in the consistency in drink excellence as it’s an art & skill we hone & perfect, knowing your customer base & their needs so they feel at home and service with a warm smile no matter the time of day….these guys hit the nail on the head every time! I’ve been going to this location for a few months now, and the majority of the visits have been excellent experiences. The staff is always very friendly and happy to help assist with any ordering questions. Tonight was the first time I’ve had any sort of negative experience at all. I ordered a hot mocha, and got steamed milk. I’m not even sure there was any espresso in the cup. I added some chocolate syrup when I got home, and had an okay cup of hot chocolate, but I’m pretty bummed about paying a premium price for something I could’ve executed better at home

We love this place about 85% of the time, but have noticed that recently there have been a few new baristas who have made our drinks incorrectly. They either use regular milk when we paid for a milk alternative due to food allergies, or they leave out the caramel or any kind of sweetener. This has happened 3 times within the past month, and we even reminded them to add the caramel syrup, and they still forgot. They will replace the drinks when we catch the error before we drive away, however, due to the busy drive thru, we are usually almost home before we notice. Overall, we like this location, we just would like the drinks made the way we ordered. Especially when they’re over $6.
