Beans & Brews, Layton, Utah, conveniently located on South Fort Lane. Beans & Brews Coffee House has been crafting exceptional coffee since 1993, when the Laramie family opened their first shop near Salt Lake City’s Liberty Park. Inspired by Utah’s mountains, we perfected high-altitude roasting to create smooth, bold flavors that set us apart. From our roots in Utah, we’ve grown into a beloved community across Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, Missouri, and Texas. At “Beans,” as our friends call us, we’re all about great coffee and even better connections. Regulars, newcomers, and travelers alike are always welcome—stop by and see why we’re more than just a coffee house. Cheers to good coffee and great company!

Normally, the staff at this location has been great—honestly, really great. However, the last couple of visits haven’t been the same. The service hasn’t felt up to the usual standard.
I always order the same drink: a frozen caramel Cielo with extra caramel. After these last two dine-in visits, I’ve started questioning the consistency in both pricing and service. I’ve now begun asking for receipts just so I can compare going forward.
I hope things return to the level of quality and consistency this location is known for.
*Edit*
Since posting this review, I’ve stopped in four more times and made note of each visit with my drinks and receipts. Overall, my experience has definitely improved. The receipts have also been more consistent, which I really appreciate. While I still have a couple of questions, the atmosphere feels much more relaxed now, and the staff seem more comfortable and welcoming.
Mary is the manager and has kept the place running the entire time no matter how frail we all think we are, she somehow finds a way to rewrite it as a strength when it appears.
She has been able to manage how differently everybody thinks and acts very well into a coordinated team that somehow allows everyone to be themselves yet accomplish customer requests. I bring people here all the time and everyone I bring seems to be able to work across the line of business and personability.
Thanks for all the winter escapes, conversations, and of course, the coffee!!!
When I said “Thanks, these sandwiches are smashed” and started to walk out of the store, Sage (see other employee names below) said “What do you expect, we’re teenagers.” The one that wouldn’t give me her name (see below) said “We can make you another one.” I didn’t wait for another sandwich and told them I had an appointment (I had already been waiting a significant amount of time, my sandwiches had been done for who knows how long, and they had already tampered with my food).
I don’t care if employees are teenagers. They are being paid to do a job, they are working in the customer service industry, and they are tampering with food products that are being served to customers which is ground for their food handlers permits being revoked, should I choose to report them to the Department of Health.
I asked for their names and said I was going to notify the Manager. The employees were Sage, Macey, and a third employee who said “I refuse to give you my name,” when I asked for their names to give when I talked to the manager. Worst experience ever, go anywhere else.
I hope Anna is still at this location. She is another standout and seemed to be a go-to person when others had questions. Hard worker!
Hope this store continues to improve! Seems as though it’s on the right track, as far as I can see.
