Bean & Barley is such a gem. The matcha is absolutely amazing—easily some of the best I’ve had. The environment is unique and cozy, with a great vibe that makes you want to hang out longer. The service is friendly and welcoming, and the space itself is awesome: a cool basement venue downstairs plus a great outdoor back patio when the weather’s nice. Whether you’re stopping in for a drink or settling in for a while, this place nails it every time. Highly recommend!

Inviting atmosphere with great coffee and even better service.

I Stumbled upon this cafe on google and learned that it is one of the few coffee shops that are open late into the evening. As soon as i walked in, i noticed that the pillows in top of the seating rows and the great cozy atmosphere that allows people to work while minding their business which is the perfect mix for a coffee spot!

They have a downstairs too and both floors have a patio area which I will try once the weather gets warmer. The downstairs is a more quiet environment but the main floor is filled with vibes and background conversations so it offers both ambiances that a cafe often calls for.

The selection of wine has depth which makes it a good spot to hangout even after the coffee hours are gone.

As a latino, i loved seeing the empanadas on their menu which is a great snack or meal and goes well with coffee.

I ordered the usual, dark toast drip coffee, yet again and the flavor was a bit on the robust side with a hint of bitterness but delicious nonetheless. I had more than three refills of it and was more awake than a meth head at 3 pm in the afternoon!

The barista was so sweet and was more than happy to take care of my refills every time i stepped up to the bar!

Will come back to try their empanadas.

Latte was good. Vine seems good here. There were many people working on thier lap tops. Only thing I’m not a fan of is the lid for the iced latte. I prefer the lids you can drink straight from. I can’t stand straws.

I’ve only been here once, so far. It’s a decent-sized space inside, with lots of outlets, WiFi, and chairs with backs and cushions. There’s also plenty of patio seating for a nicer day. Drink-wise, the plain latte I had was 10/10. The espresso/barista quality speak for themselves, and it speaks volumes if I can enjoy a drink that much without trying a more interesting/seasonal drink. They also have pastries/breakfast items. The mini quiche was phenomenal — herby, rich, a tad bit of spice.. I’d eat it any day. My hard-to-please lady said the coffee cake was just decent and the caramel vanilla capp was 8/10 (excellent by her standards). This place is open late and serves wine/beer/cocktails, too.. what that really means is this is a rare place where you can get a coffee late in the evening! I have no doubt they’ll be seeing my face more in the future; it’s a top-notch coffee shop that I can’t wait to explore more of!

They had wonderful baked goods here for a long time but now they’ve switched to grocery store purchased things. Made me sad. I would love it if they could figure out the baked foods again!
Their coffee is amazing!

I came in for warmth today after my car broke down a block over and I had to wait for a jump. I told the barista, Tate, why I was upset and he showed me immense kindness. He let me put on a tv show I like and offered to help me jump my car. Coffee was delicious too. I’m so grateful for his kindness. Thank you Tate!

We stopped in on a steamy Saturday and enjoyed the cool air inside and fast service! We enjoyed our food and drinks by the front window but explored the various spaces in this shop as well. Lots of options! The coffee and danish were excellent. The barista was particularly friendly and we really enjoyed our visit. We’ll be back!

We came here for our weekly Saturday coffee date. Nice location, lots of indoor & outdoor space. Wasn’t busy at all. Service was friendly & helpful. Paid street parking. Food & drink were good.

My wife got a hazelnut latte with the chibata breakfast sandwich, and I got the drip coffee and apple coffee cake. I’d say the coffee, latte, and food were good, but nothing stood out as great. We both agree we’d come back here if we have a lot of people and or because of the area, but food alone wouldn’t bring us back. Overall nice coffee shop.

Cloudy kind of day with a gentle drizzle and we decided to take a walk to Bean and Barley, coffee and tap room on Obrineville. Beautiful homes on Obrineville and we commented and admired the homes. Was very surprised how lovely and spacious the interior was. Lots of tables inside and the patio and in the basement. Been open for 5 months. Nice art inside and very tastefully done. I ordered a Mocha and Joel a regular coffee. Owen who works there and 4 other jobs, and a musician was so lovely to chat with him.
I would recommend this place very highly. Come on over and support young entrepreneurs.
