Returned last night for my friend’s birthday and everything was just as good as I remembered. The fish pie was a favorite from my last visit, so I ordered it again and the seafood paella was a new favorite. Service was warm and super helpful, especially with my friend’s baby. Overall, another great dining experience at Beach St Bistrot.

Other menu items we tried:
– Wild Mushroom Soup
– Cold Capellini
– Mussels
– Fish Pie
– Mixed Seafood Paella
– Hamachi

Celebrating a birthday is always special, and choosing the right restaurant to mark the occasion is crucial. We, having heard much about this particular establishment and its proprietors, decided to give it a try – and thankfully, we were not disappointed.

The meal began promisingly. The lobster bisque and escargot pairing proved to be a winning combination. We specifically love the “buttery and creamy flavour” of the escargot, enhanced by the textural contrast of “crispy toasted bread crumps.” This attention to detail, highlighting both flavour and texture, suggests a kitchen that understands the importance of a well-rounded culinary experience. The bisque, rich and flavourful, complemented the escargot perfectly, setting a high bar for the dishes to follow.

The paella was another standout. It was “lovely,” emphasizing the delightful balance between the “saltiness and sweetness of the seafood.” The rice, a critical component of any good paella, was tasty, with a subtle “burnt end” adding a touch of character and complexity, allowing the rice to develop a caramelized crust.

The richness continued with the foie gras, creamy and yet not too heavy. We love that there was a great bite to it, a pleasant texture and a well-executed sear. Finally, the truffle pasta completed the savory journey. “Yummy, sweet, springy and fragrant”; this pasta dish clearly left a lasting impression. The combination of “sweet” and “fragrant” suggests a delicate balance of flavors and aromas, while “springy” indicates perfectly cooked pasta with a satisfying texture.

Celebrated my friend’s birthday here and had a great time. Loved the food, everything was delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the cozy ambience at the brasserie made it even nicer. Thanks for the lovely experience, will definitely come back!

Just lovely. From the moment you step inside you know it will be great. Pleasant service, nice greeting, water to the table immediately. Menu for lunch is perfect. We had the petit Caesar salad to start. Very nice. Then the chicken paella- exceptional – and the bbq burger – super nice. Chased down with a carafe of red Sangria, what’s not to like? Recommended!

First of all, the service is very good.
The waitress (if I’m not mistaken her name is Mon) is really informative about the menu.
We choose The Burratta bomb and Charcoal fired saffron rice (paella) based on her recommendations.
The Burratta bomb was exquisite and very delicious. Soft in the inside and very crunchy on the outside.
The paella also delicious, although our asian tongue looking for more “kick”.
Mon helps us preparing the paella before we dig in.

I really didn’t expect the beef here to be so disappointing. We ordered two different types of beef — one had a very strong gamey smell, and the other had a poor texture. The rest of the dishes were just average as well. Overall, it wasn’t worth the price.

Out of milk! Is what happened to my coffee. Not sure how any establishment can run out of milk. Otherwise, my review would have begun with, beware the coffee and croissant offer, because you might order more. Because damn that compound butter was good.
Anyway service here is impeccable. The paella, well I would order again. Because the next best thing is in KL. It taste good but doesn’t remind me of Spain. The chicken mushroom pie had a light and delightfully brittle crust. Rub some of their compound butter in the mash and you’re off. the mushy peas was trying too hard but the overall dish was enjoyable nonetheless.

If this place served bread on seating, this would have been the perfect European experience. And why not, with that deadly good compound butter of theirs. The playlist also had 2 french singers whispering sexy time to each other. It paired perfectly with the croissant. Imma need to come back with a bigger crowd to try more items. PS, the toilet is incredible.

TLDR: Great service, great food. Will come again.

The foccia and the truffle infused butter is really impressive. Likewise the mushroom soup. For the pasta, the seafood are fresh but not something to shout about.

Beach St Bistro is a delightful dining spot that strikes a perfect balance between elegance and comfort. Located in the heart of George Town, it’s just a short stroll from the city’s iconic street art and heritage attractions, making it a convenient stop whether you’re exploring the area or planning a special meal. For drivers, there’s a paid parking lot about 100 meters away, so access isn’t an issue.

From the outside, the restaurant is unassuming, but once you step in, the atmosphere immediately changes. It’s quiet, classy, and tastefully designed, creating a serene environment that feels like a world away from the bustling streets outside. The space is ideal for those who enjoy a peaceful, refined dining experience—whether you’re on a date, catching up with friends, or just looking for a calm spot to enjoy a good meal.

Do make a reservation before you come—walk-ins might leave disappointed as the restaurant tends to fill up quickly, especially during peak hours. It’s a popular spot for a reason, and securing a table ahead of time ensures you get to enjoy the experience without hassle.

One of the things that really stands out here is the service. The staff are warm, friendly, and professional. They pay attention to the little things—like checking in just the right amount and making thoughtful recommendations. It’s clear they take pride in both the food and the guest experience.

Now let’s talk about the food, which was truly impressive. The grilled corn is a must-try. It might sound simple at first, but it’s surprisingly flavourful—beautifully charred, seasoned just right, and served in a way that elevates it beyond your typical side dish. It was easily one of our favourites.

We also had the Wagyu rib eye, and it did not disappoint. The meat was juicy, tender, and rich with flavour. Cooked to perfection, it came with sides that complemented the steak without overpowering it. The portion was satisfying and well worth the price, especially given the quality of the cut.

While those were our highlights, the rest of the menu looked equally tempting, and we’ll definitely be returning to try more. The presentation of the food was clean and elegant, matching the overall vibe of the bistro. It’s clear that care and craftsmanship go into every dish.

Overall, Beach St Bistro offers a wonderful dining experience—from its convenient location and stylish, quiet atmosphere to its excellent food and attentive service. Just be sure to book a table in advance to avoid missing out!
