Beach Road – Review – Vineyard Haven – The Infatuation
Reviews
During my visit, I was warmly welcomed by my waitress, Christiana, who was not only personable but also made excellent recommendations. Her service truly elevated the evening.
I started my meal with the cast iron cornbread, which was well worth the 15-minute wait. Moist and flavorful, it came with sea salt and honey butter that complemented the dish perfectly. For my first drink, I chose the Picante Hour, a tequila cocktail with a spicy kick—perfect for those who enjoy a bit of heat in their drinks.
The Spanish octopus I had as an appetizer was outstanding, easily one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The octopus was perfectly cooked, and the salsa bravas sauce added a delightful depth of flavor. For my entrée, I enjoyed the Atlantic cod, which was cooked to perfection and paired beautifully with parsnip cream and roasted baby carrots.
Although I was too full to try the butterscotch whiskey pudding, it’s definitely on my list for my next visit. I ended the meal with an espresso martini, which was a perfect blend, especially with the addition of Baileys.
Beach Road is a must-visit for anyone on Martha’s Vineyard. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a great place to relax and enjoy a meal with a view, this restaurant should be at the top of your list.
For the main course, I got the bouillabaisse, which has light – but tasty – broth and some mussels, lobster, a langoustine, and some clams. I wish there were fish, as the marseillais serve it, and fewer mussels (nice but not upscale). The soup came with a tasty toasted bread creatively spread with rouille. The rouille itself lacked some zinger but I did enjoy the dish which brought back some memories from home.
My date got the pasta and lobster. Although the lobster and pasta were reportedly very tasty, the sauce was super garlicky which forced her to get some maalox later on. It was also a particularly generous pasta serving, we could not finish it. After that, there was no room for desert. Next time.
For drinks, I thoroughly enjoyed a grapefruit thief and a decent rosé provençal. My date got the aligoté which was fine. Some prices are absurd, such as $52 for a bottle of 2021 Muscadet, a well known bad year for a wine which is known as being cheap and cheerful.
Anyhow, we got a great time and we’ll definitely be back.
