Wow. Was debating going here, or in-n-out, & chose this place with my friend for their birthday.
The staff made “animal style fries” for us upon request despite not knowing what they were, they forgot my avocado & bacon on my burger (easy mistake/miscommunication, no hard feelings, & if you’re the kind of person who gives people a hard time for easy mistakes you have some serious soul searching to do) so I let them know & they happily gave me my avocado & bacon on the side because I asked nicely 🙂
The gyro was fantastic, better than some greek places in SLC. The burger was appropriately sized 🙂
I’m glad I asked because it greatly improved my burger!! The staff are so helpful & nice I love them.
Atmosphere is great because they play the radio & not a dumb corporate-chosen top 40 playlist.
They also gave me an extra shake half off because they made it on accident, & when we had that & another shake we ordered we encountered REAL fruit bits!!!
NO ONE IN 2025 IS DOING IT LIKE B&D BURGER.

I just so happened to have the owner take my order. I requested that she make me her favorite burger. With a large coke, the order cost me under $15. The burger was everything a hipster burger isn’t; pure deliciousness without pretentious pricing.

Not sure if they bring in the burger buns from a bakery or it’s a supplier thing… but they are different than any burger place we have in our town. And they are excellent! I had the grilled chicken n avocado sandwich and can’t remember what my wife and two kids had. I remember they had specialty hamburgers of some kind. All of us were impressed with everything we ordered. The shakes are old school and probably the best part! It was close to closing time and was really slow in there. Keep that in mind when I say the bathrooms were very clean and so was the lobby. But it is an old building and has probably spit out a million cheeseburgers… so it’s a little greasy. But we loved it and will definitely be back for more!

B&D Burger seriously went above and beyond! They made sure my meal was totally gluten free with no cross contamination, which is super hard to find. I ordered the lemon chicken plate (no bun, no fries, extra rice) and it was delicious! I think I talked to Isaac? on the phone — he’s always so kind and detail-oriented. You can tell he really cares about making sure everything’s safe and done right. 10/10 recommend, especially if you’re gluten free!

If you are looking for a delicious and satisfying burger in Salt Lake City, look no further than B&D Burger.
This place has been serving up fresh and juicy burgers since 1981, and they have a loyal fan base that keeps coming back for more.
I visited their location near the UofU campus and ordered the Pastrami Burger, which comes with a 1/4 lb. char-broiled beef patty, sliced pastrami, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and special sauce on a toasted bun.
It was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had – the beef was cooked to perfection, the pastrami was tender and smoky, and the sauce was tangy and flavorful.
The fries were also hot and crispy, and the portion was generous. The service was fast and friendly, and the prices were reasonable.
I highly recommend B&D Burger to anyone who loves burgers and wants to try a Utah favorite.
Update (2/19/2025): I went to Salt Lake City last week and tried the B&D burger again. I can confidently say that the burger they serve here is one of the best I’ve ever had. The pastrami is perfect, and the shake is different from other places. Don’t hesitate to stop by if you want to have a great time with your family and friends!

The food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the French fries and fry sauce. The gyro sandwich was very good and had an middle eastern taste to it. My husband enjoyed the mushroom hamburger with a rootbeer-float on the side. With our meal, we spent $28.
The atmosphere felt like a hotel dining room. The service is very good as well.

Food’s Hit or Miss. Zucchini fries are delicious! I wish they would serve him with the sauce or something though. First time the counterperson was not friendly at all then say damn word, everybody seemed grumpy. Order the gyro and zucchini fries. Really like the zucchini fries. The gryo was ok, The tzatziki seem like a cheap commercial product. The second time the order taker was super nice. I got zucchini fries again LOL and the belly buster Burger. Says it’s a quarter pound but it looked a lot smaller than that, just a small single piece of ham with it. Pretty boring Burger and it was dry, needs a sauce or mayo.

Whamp whamp whaaaaaaaaaamp… wife picked it up for dinner around 6:30. She got home approximately 15 minutes later. Pumpkin shake was the best part. Both the patty and the pastrami on the pastrami burger was too dry. I’m talking bone dry. My burger had mayo, lettuce, pickles, and grilled onion. It was so dry i had to add barbecue sauce just to be able to swallow without taking a drink of water with each bite. French fries were crispy which was nice. But even though the shake and fries were mediocre, I’m still giving a 2-star overall. The star of the show has got to be better

The food here is good, once you get it. They’re incredibly slow and not worth the wait. Cooking burgers is not that hard and there are other, faster places near campus that are equally as good. Skip the 40 minutes waiting for a burger and fries and go elsewhere.
