We stopped here on our way back from Cherokee and glad we did. Just a little place on the river with great food and scenery. The pulled pork was outstanding, just enough smoke for flavor with
good sauce choices, nothing skimpy about it. The sides were good, particularly the baked potato salad and beans. I didn’t care too much for the slaw. Great, quiet location, easy on and off the road.

Nice little BBQ joint right on the river. Awesome location, and a nice option when driving through the area.
I met the owner and he was a super nice guy! He explained to me that they’re in a dry county and they cannot legally sell beer.

Mixed up Outdoor Adventures
What a perfect little spot on the river to sit and have lunch. They have a great brisket sandwich and salads and other things too. You can watch the rafters raft by and the train comes by there too. It’s definitely a place you need to visit if you’re staying in Bryson City or anywhere around there.

AMAZING!!! Price was great, views are great, and the food was AWESOME! Recommended by one of the raft guides and we took a chance and was NOT disappointed! 10/10 would recommend the brisket sandwich with the potato salad! Whenever we come back to Nantahala after a long day out on the water, we are definitely coming back here!

The atmosphere and location were absolutely beautiful and the people were incredibly nice. The food was just ok. Sauce was good but sides were like kfc . They got almost everything right they just need to step up their game a bit.

We stopped by the shack after our first white water rafting run. Our guide pointed the place out as we paddled by and highly recommended the place. The BBQ was mediocre but the service was amazing and you can’t beat the porch side view of the river. We ordered the pulled pork + potato salad, brisket + coleslaw, and a hot dog + chips. There’s not many places to stop alongside the road for a quick bite so this semi-hits the spot.

LOVE THIS PLACE! After a long day of rafting on the river this place is the perfect place to stop.
For price, taste, and the service from the staff it really is great. Also located right by the river making it great for pictures!
My personal favorites are the BBQ beef brisket, Mac and cheese, and turkey wrap! Highly, highly recommend!

The view is extremely cute! The food is good. Service was awful. The lady at the front had terrible attitudes and manners while I was ordering. If you don’t like your job to where you treat customers so poorly, then quit.

Food was good; especially the loaded potato salad it was really good. The people were absolutely great and made the stop in an absolute pleasure. Nice little porch area attached to the backside overlooking the river or some picnic tables just to the east of the building; both great places to enjoy your food while watching rafting groups float on by through an absolutely beautiful gorge.

The food here is awesome! We came here twice while staying in the area. Very friendly service, fresh food, great view right on the Nantahala River, and very good prices! About $ 10 per person to get a sandwich or hotdog, a side, and a soda.
