This is the worst BBQ I’ve ever seen in my life. Chicken was extremely dry and had that texture which you get if let cooked chicken sit in a fridge for several days. You know this dry brownish meat.
Brisket, for some reason, was pulled like a pork. But besides that it didn’t have any taste. It felt like it didn’t have enough rub and salt.
I couldn’t even imagine that classic BBQ food can be so bad.

Waited for a third visit to ensure it was legit before leaving the review. I dig it. Place is low key awesome. Blue collar working American business. Killer Tri Tip sammich. Fries and pulled pork are awesome. I tried five sauces and put the texas kick and Alabama White at the top. Don’t hesitate to grab some of this BBQ.

Ordered the brisket sandwich with 2 sides, beans and Mac and cheese and a side of bbq. Didn’t get the side of bbq sauce, sandwich was bland, lacked flavor. Crispy onions on it were not crispy and hard to get down. The beans were awful. Tasted like pepper with a hint of beans. Mac and cheese was flavorless and the noodles were complete mush. Very disappointed. Spent $30 just to throw it all away.

Kay was amazing. So are all the sauces, we got the Bold and California Gold as well as some Alabama white sauce and loved it all. The food was okay, the meats especially the ribs were dry even with sauce added, the sides I wouldn’t recommend especially the potato salad and cole slaw. I enjoyed the Mac and cheese, my husband didn’t. Not sure how often they make the food fresh, but they might need to do so more often. Will be back for the sauces, but nothing else.

Love this place!! I have been here multiple times and love everything I’ve had. All of their sauces are amazing and I recommend trying all of them. All of the food is flavorful and has a good smoke to it. The staff is super friendly. Will definitely be back again and again

The heart of this place and the people that own it are pure gold! As BBQ has many faces across the US , I really like the unique spin this crew places on their own BBQ. The brisket is my favorite and my husband likes their ribs. The sauce options are killer too!!

Looking for actual barbecue in California? Tired of going into a barbecue restaurant and finding nothing but tri-tip? Starting to think Californians don’t know what real barbecue is? Then you gotta check this place out. They’ve got real smoked brisket. It’s the only place in California that I’ve had good brisket.

First time ordering from BBQ Express since they just opened. I had the tri tip sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese and my husband had the pulled pork sandwich, also with the Mac and cheese. Me first: I liked the bun. That’s about it. The tri tip wasn’t seasoned at all and the sandwich had a little smear of some red sauce in the middle of the bun. It really didn’t have any BBQ or smoked taste at all. I was excited about the onion strings and asked if they could give me the ones from my husbands sandwich since he doesn’t like onions. Darn it! They had no seasoning at all, not even salt, and they were soft and gooey and not at all crispy. What a disappointment! I tossed them out. The Mac and cheese wasn’t awful, but I don’t think thats the rave review they want. Boxed Mac and cheese has more flavor and I don’t like the boxed stuff. I ate the top bun (without the red sauce smear) because I’m hungry and left the rest of the tri tip and Mac and cheese for my husband to eat for lunch tomorrow. And I’m still hungry. Now for his review: he had the pulled pork and the sauce was “ok but too sweet” and there wasn’t much of it. He didn’t hate the Mac and cheese but said he won’t order it again. I am disappointed about this meal. We will give it another chance but if it isn’t better we won’t be back.
