Ben is the owner and we got talking even as I was ordering. As a foodie, I had to ask a lot of questions and he was kind enough to explain.
Are you coming from church he asked and I said yes. My son just randomly selected your place to have brunch and here we are.
“I love burgers he said with a big smile” I don’t mind paying for an expensive burger but that burger better make me full he said . That’s why I started this joint. When we talked about his brisket, he was like our sauce is always by the side. If anyone puts gravy or sauce on your brisket, they are masking something or it has no taste. . He asked for a Google review and I told him to be careful what he asked for. He didnt know this foodie was gonna review him anyways.
The mac and cheese was a bit dry and not cheesy. My kids gave it a score of 6 without the bacon or the sausage and a score of 7 if you combine both.
The brisket was amazing, it was moist and will pull apart easily as expected and had a good smoky taste.
The single Wagyu burger I got was also on point. I can’t fault it in anyway. The meat was well cooked, just seasoned with salt and the rest of the flavours from the sauces kicked in.
Fries were on point. No surprises there
The best part and the most surprising was the long sauage. I could eat it all without feeling guilty. The salt was mild, it was smoky and taste just great. Was it made in house
Haha before I forget, He also makes his BBQ sauce in house. We loved the taste but only comea with certain orders. We got it for the brisket. You gotta pay if you want more to take home.
Anyways, I recommend a visit to his place. Order your take out.
Owner has a great vibe and was very cool. Explained what they had and where we should start at as newbies. We got the Mac and Cheese, Pulled Pork and Jerk Chicken/fries. It was hard to drive home without ripping into the bag it smelt so good.
The food was amazing; great portions, and the flavour was definitely there. I’m not great with spice so the chicken kicked my ass but was delicious nonetheless. Mac and Cheese was so smokey and flavourful. The pulled pork has a delicious sweetness to it and whether you eat it on bread or alone it is so damn good. Even the fries, crispy and delicious. I truly don’t think they have a bad dish for sale.
The prices are insanely good for the servings and the fact it’s BBQ. I will definitely be returning to try the rest of their menu. Keep up the amazing work, your food is 10/10!
