Social Profile:

The bb.q in our name stands for Best of the Best Quality, and that’s exactly what you can expect from every one of our restaurants. Our Korean fried chicken is crispier, juicier, and more tender than anything you’ve tasted before, and our sauces provide an eclectic mix of flavor. Every dish is the result of both longstanding Korean tradition and modern research and development from our very own Chicken University. It’s a tremendous amount of work, but it’s all worth it when you take that first bite.

This is my first time leaving a review. Until now, I’ve never written a review regardless of whether the food was good or bad. I visited here on November 11th. So far, I’ve been to over 30 different BB.Q Chicken locations and have always had a good experience. While some locations had slightly different-tasting chicken, it was never bad enough that I couldn’t eat it—honestly, I would just eat and leave.

But today, I ordered the spicy galbi chicken, and when I took my first bite, I noticed that the batter was thick, and the taste was different from any BB.Q chicken I’d had before. It was just greasy and unpleasant. The second piece I tried had a strong rancid oil taste, and I had to think twice about whether to swallow it or spit it out. Eventually, I had to spit it out. This wasn’t just “bad taste”; it was “unbearable.”

I’ve got a pretty strong stomach, and even if something doesn’t taste great, I can usually finish it, but this was the worst experience I’ve ever had with chicken. Out of all the chicken I’ve ever eaten, this was the absolute worst. The staff didn’t seem to be at fault, so I just told the cashier that the oil seemed to be bad, and I left.

I still feel sick, and before writing this review, I had to throw up in the restroom. I really believe this is a serious issue, and I’m leaving this review in hopes that it gets addressed and improved.

This place made the same mistake with my order twice. I went to pick up my food only to be told my order was never entered—both times. No apology from the manager, just excuses. Poor management and careless staff. Very disappointing.
——-
A few months ago, I placed an order and went to pick it up, only to be told that the staff had forgotten to enter my order, so the kitchen never made it. They asked me to wait 20 minutes. One of the staff felt bad and called the manager to see if they could offer any kind of benefit for the mistake. The manager said no. The staff gave me two sodas out of apology, but what I really expected was a sincere apology from the manager—which never came. It was a Saturday, and I had planned to enjoy chicken while watching the baseball game, but my evening was already ruined.

Today, during another Dodgers game, I placed another order. I had to call four times before someone picked up. When I asked why no one was answering the phone, the staff said they were busy organizing a soju delivery. They told me my order would take 20 minutes. When I went to pick it up, they said my order hadn’t even been entered. Again, they told me it would take 20 more minutes if I wanted them to make it.

I was shocked and frustrated—it’s unbelievable that the exact same mistake happened twice. For the staff, it might seem like just one customer’s order being overlooked, but for me, it was very upsetting. I also know that the owner hasn’t been around since COVID and leaves everything to the staff. Back then, I used to see the owner, but not anymore.

Please take responsibility and manage your employees properly. I was too drained to argue with the staff, who just smiled and said they didn’t know, so I walked out. But as a customer who has now experienced the same mistake twice, I am extremely disappointed.

I don’t normally leave reviews but after having an unusually negative experience (korean fried chicken is rarely bad…), I checked the reviews and saw that this might be a recurring issue at this location so I want to help draw attention.

I ordered the boneless half half for take out at lunch the other day and I was really hungry so I was scarfing them down but a few pieces in, I started having a gag reflex cause they were tasting a bit “off”. From what I’m seeing in the reviews, people had similar experiences and were suspecting bad oil or freezer-burned chicken and I think that makes sense cause it wasn’t like an overtly rotten flavor.
I usually have a strong stomach so I thought I could just power through or maybe the marinade would be enough to mask the weird flavor, but every piece gave this “off” (like chalky? cardboard? plastic? – not quite sure how to describe it) flavor and I couldn’t take more than a bite or two before gagging and wanting to throw up, so I had to give up.
I had hoped it was just an off day for me, so I even took home the leftovers and tried to eat it today, but before I could take a bite, I smelled the “off” flavor I was tasting and immediately gagged. It’s a huge disappointment cause I love my korean fried chicken and I feel like it’s hard to find a place that’s that bad, but this was inedible.
(It looks fine in the photo, but just wanted to add a photo for verification lol)

This place has some really good chicken and used to be really cool. The food is good, but the service has gone down a bit. I came in to pick up my online order and this guy at the counter did not even look at me. I gave him a few minutes since he seemed busy putting together an order or two. I realized he tried to do anything else but address that I was even in the restaurant. He even came out into the lobby and walked past me to grab something. I just stood there baffled at the fact that he was actively ignoring me. Someone else walked in shortly and he addressed them immediately. If these are the kinds of people working at this establishment, I will not be returning to this one specifically. Only reason I give it a 3 is because of how good the chicken usually is.

The chicken wings were AMAZING!!!! The service was slow as hell, almost an hour to get our wings. Which seemed to much… but anyway… the cashier/waiter was nice

Ordered to-go and got the original boneless combo…idk if the chicken was freezer burned or the oil was old but it tasted so bad. It was too late to turn back. It smelled troubling. I torn open each piece hoping that only one piece was weird…nope, all the pieces were terrible. The fries were fine. This was disheartening because I’ve had the bone in chicken a few months ago and it was delicious. I’m not going back…at the prices they charge, not changing the or properly refrigerating the chicken shouldn’t be a struggle for them.

If you like fried chicken you need to go here. Their chicken is so damn crispy and flavorful we even ate it refrigerated and still cold the next day and it was still crispy and flavorful! This place does it right. Unfortunately not all BB.Q chicken places are the same. Others were a miss compared to this location. I gotta say I absolutely hate LA, but this is one of the few placesi need to visit when in town. Cut out the guesswork, get the original crispy. Then you can try some other flavors. No need to waste your time on sides just stick to the chicken.

One of the best fried chicken options in LA.
My favorite is the Honey Garlic Chicken options.
They used to have a Creamy Carbonara Pasta! Unfortunately, they no longer offer it!

I’ll update later with better pictures because I forget to take the photo before eating their food. I’ve only done orders via Uber eats and so far it’s never missed.

I highly recommend their Boneless Cheesling Chicken, Bone in Galbi chicken, & their waffle fries. The chicken is cooked to perfection & their ranch sauce really compliments their flavors.

***Update***
Cheeseling chicken still awesome and I recommend the Honey garlic wings too! Even as left overs it’s still delicious.

If you’re having chicken+beer cravings, this spot hits the mark. Their original fried chicken is perfectly crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, even the white meat pieces. We got the half & half so we could also try their spicy fried chicken. Great flavor and again, great texture (not too spicy). They have a few choices for beer: blue moon, an IPA, Asahi, Sapporo. Great deal for a pitcher of any of these: $24. Our server was so nice and attentive. We’ll definitely return here!
