⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Baytown Legend That Never Disappoints
Baytown Seafood has been a staple for my family for over 25 years, and it is incredible how they’ve maintained such high quality for over two decades. It truly never disappoints and remains the most trusty and popular spot in town, especially on Fridays during the Lent season. On our visit today, the meal was spectacular. We enjoyed a massive fish platter with perfectly fried fish, succulent shrimp, and crispy fries, along with an extra order of the six-piece shrimp and fries. We also had the shrimp fried rice, which is always savory and packed with flavor, but I have to give a special shout-out to the mini shrimp salad—it is hands-down my favorite and the perfect fresh start to the meal. If you’re looking for a reliable, delicious, and authentic seafood experience, this is the place to be!

hot and fresh, but missed the mark on flavor. I ordered the special of the night – shrimp and fish. The round thing is a fish patty. I thought I was getting a fried catfish filet. The servers were great, kept my glass full, and friendly. The boudin balls were good.

This is the BEST food, of any kind, we’ve had in a long time!!! We ate there yesterday & I had the grilled, stuffed flounder plate with the best cooked veggies, it was DELICIOUS! I “tasted” my husband’s fried fish & it was also very VERY good! The portions are huge & we took home a lot of leftovers even though we were overly stuffed. I just nuked leftovers for lunch & its still just as tasty today. I still couldn’t finish but Ill be eating again later for supper. Lindzey was our server, she was very sweet & attentive! We went in between lunch & supper so it was kinda quiet but people were starting to pour in as we were finishing up.

First time to eat at this location and the food and service were top notch! Fried catfish was crispy and seasoned just right; the loaded potato was served in a small bowl which was perfect for holding in all the butter and melted cheese..it was so fresh and fluffy too; the sautéed veggies were on point ( we did request them to be extra soft and they did just that) the side salad is only a little lettice and a tomato but I already knew this and was okay with it…our server was right there every time we needed her! Very happy we stopped in…it was a Sunday afternoon after the church crowd so it wasn’t too busy.

The food and service here exceeded my expectations!
I tried the large fried shrimp, fried scallops, fried squid, hushpuppies and fries. They were ALL delicious!
I was really surprised at how good their crinkle fries were! Their corn/Jalapeno hushpuppies had a great flavor as well.
Highly recommend this spot for some good seafood and Cajun delights.

The service and food were great. We came on a busy Friday night and still received good service. The food came out quick and was excellent. I had grilled large shrimp w/ vegetables and dirty rice with a piece of fried catfish. My daughter had grilled large shrimp with vegetables. Overall if your in the mood for seafood it’s worth the trip.

The fried pickles are AWESOME and worth getting on the way home by themselves! They really, really knocked it out of the park with that one. Fish was flavorful. The fries dont look like anything special especially in the pictures on the menu but when i got them they were cooked just how i like, and every one was perfectly crispy! Shrimp was tender.
The coleslaw was to my tastes. I really liked it, but it’s nothing special and it is the sweet kind. It was perfect to go on my sandwich though.
The food did not come with tartar sauce or cocktail sauce and when we asked for them they came in giant communal sqeeze bottles which is something many people do not like or even refuse to eat from. The tartar and cocktail sauces were fine but obviously Sysco restaurant supply brand. I think a home made tartar sauce might be what this place needs to comfortably get a 5. A fresh, bright tartar sauce would be something to be proud of here because surprisingly there aren’t a lot of seafood places in this part of town even going all the way over to i-10 that really take pride in seafood. Most of the seafood options are just built in to other restaurants so baytown seafood has this great chance along with Captain D’s to be something awesome and I want to see them take it.
Portions were good but could have used 1 or 2 more shrimp. 2 or 3 extra shrimp for a dollar if you’re already getting a full plate might be a good idea? The shrimp on the shrimp po boy still had their tails on which was certainly something. Im sure someone probably complained once that they were missing shrimp portion or something but i dont think that’s standard other places…
This place is definitely worth checking out if you live close and the prices are fair.
The decor is old and on the bad side. The parking lot is scary especially at night.

Will not order from here ever again. For years we have ordered from here. Today went in to pick up our call in order, cashier was ringing up our order, husband began to pay, in the process of making the payment, My husband asked for a few little plastic dollups of tarter sauce, because the tiny packets take too many to get enough for 30 shrimp and 4 catfish fillets. the cashier told my husband to cancel the transaction so she can charge us for the extra tarter sauce, we were stunned, so stunned and shocked we paid for everything and walked out with our 46ish dollar purchase which was originally 44ish dollars. We didn’t dine in, no need to wash dishes, no need for server, nor anyone to clean a table behind us. We have ordered seafood from other restaurants, to go, asked for extra tarter and were never charged extra for the condiment. We got 4 dollups of the sauce. Here are 2 pics of what we were charged 2 dollars extra for. Will be letting our local friends, whom also dine here occasionally. To sum it all up, will NEVER return.
