A big taste of Louisiana. It’s definitely worth the stop. Good food at reasonable prices. Great service! Will come back soon!

Great little place. Family owned. Beautiful family. Food was perfect. Gumbo and 2 catfish etoufees. You gotta check it out when in Dunedin.

Wow, I just want to say I’m from Ohio on spring break to Florida and this is honestly the best food I’ve had yet on this trip and we have been a little bit of everywhere in Florida. I wish we could have this food everyday! We drove an hour from our Airbnb to get to this place and it was so worth it! Service was quick, prices weren’t bad and the atmosphere was so cute! 10/10 recommend stopping by and trying if your considering it!

I stopped in today and had the chicken and sausage combo w/blackened cat fish and side of fries. I have to tell u that this is great food. Succulent, melt in your mouth delicious. Hot gumbo and this too was delicious…

We had seen and tried to go to Happy’s Bayou Bites for years. Finally the stars aligned and the second line formed. We made it! Three important points were suddenly revealed.
1) Why did we take so long?
2) This place is awesome!
3) You get to dine outside under a shady Oak tree.
The food took us back to when we worked the river boats on the Mississippi, living the New Orleans life. Our path took us from the crab cakes to the fried catfish and with the crawfish sausage all along the way, the meal was an outstanding destination. Boudin took me back to Baton Rouge and to the bayou I visited so many times. Everyone has their favorite gumbo. Mine is still my favorite, but theirs is quite good. We definitely decided to not wait as long as before to go back again. They have many more items on the menu to try.

One of the best Cajun places my family and I have ever been too! Absolutely in love with this place. We came when they just opened and I’m so grateful we found this lovely shaded spot, outside so close to the ocean. Can’t wait to come back soon and try more! I always drive by when I’m working and smell it from far away! So delicious! The owners were so sweet and the place is decorated beautifully. Also, there is a bathroom if anyone is wondering 🙂

This place is absolutely amazing! Wanted to try for a while based on the positive reviews, and it did not disappoint. The hush puppies were the best I’ve ever eaten. We had the special cajun brisket, which I hope makes its way back – so good! Gumbo and boiled peanuts were great, too! Service was some of the friendliest and helpful I’ve ever gotten. Prices were very fair and look forward to getting back out there – especially with the cooler weather, with it being outdoor seating.

This wonderful restaurant has the best gumbo I have had outside of the state of Louisiana (and I order it every time I see it). The muffuletta was traditional with crispy bread and an excellent olive salad spread. My husband loved his etouffe and we shared an order of perfectly cooked hush puppies. Yum! They also have a great selection of Abita beers to maintain the vibe. The day we went there was live music and we sat under this huge old oak tree enjoying our meal and the music. There are a lot of small atmospheric touches on the property. This place has done everything right! The owners are also the cooks and servers and are really nice and cool people. I cannot wait to go back. If you like cajun food(or want to try it) then this is the place to go.

Amazing ambiance and equally amazing food and service! Everything was cooked to perfection! Hush puppies were crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, catfish was golden brown and crispy and moist and juicy on the inside! Shrimp was season to perfection as well!
Great spot and a must visit if you’re a local and/or visiting! Another solid spot we will continue to frequent!!

Presentation- Good
Location-Great
Music-Different
Taste-
Hush Puppies-Delicious but looks like the grease needed some changing.
Gumbo is a soup-Should NOT be called gumbo ☹️
Red Beans and Rice- No seasoning just beans, rice and heat- NO FLAVOR at all…
Fried Catfish- DELICIOUS
Grits- Dry
Sauce that goes on top of grits- needs more seasoning!
Service was great—atmosphere was great but the food (not the catfish) needed seasoning- this place missed the mark for me. I know authentic Cajun good and unfortunately this was not it.
If you come here- stick to the Fried Catfish and Hush Puppies and you will enjoy your day- anything else not so much.
