One of the most authentic, down to earth places that you could visit for both good food and good company! Will, our server is a warm, kind-hearted and lively individual that will not bs or oversell you on anything. He recommended us the gumbo, seafood fettuccine, and our new favourite drink— the Bayou Splash. Wish we took better photos because they really don’t do the place any justice!! Got to meet Lewis the chef there as well, he’s the man behind all the DELICIOUS food. My partner and I have been all over the French Quarter, Garden district and other touristy areas and this family-oriented place is so much more worth your $$.

Very pleasant, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere. The food was excellent. I had the shrimp and grits and it was by far the best I’ve ever had. My daughter had Cajun shrimp pasta and it was also excellent. We will definitely make this place a must stop through on our next visit to NOLA ❤️✌

This place is ABSOLUTELY a must visit when in New Orleans. Melissa, our waitress was so sweet and the service overall was the best we’ve experienced in the city so far. And the food…. I don’t have the words… JUST GO TRY IT! Really authentic and soulful stuff, great small business that deserves your money!

I received a sample of seafood gumbo and crawfish bisque. It was good. This place is nowhere near as crowded as the creole restauraunt next door, but the food is definitly good. The redfish Ponchatrain aas delicious and the crab cakes has a crawfish decoration between them. Still sucked the head of course, but the food was good. I ate slowly and enjoyed it

Waited an hour and ten minutes for shrimp and grits that were average at best. My cousin waited an hour for fried shrimp and fries. There were guests who walked in, ordered takeout, and got their food before we did. When I asked the cashier when to expect my food, she asked what I had ordered and said “oh I can get it for you right now” then delivered it a minute later as if it had been ready the whole time and just needed to be dishes out of a vat of pre-prepared cafeteria-style food. Will absolutely never return.

Very good fried chicken! One of my favorite spots for fried chicken in NOLA. The staff were all extremely nice and I also really liked the BBQ shrimp appetizer.

Service was terribly slow. It was open when the popular place next door had a two hour wait so that’s a plus. Other than that, the food was nothing to write home about. Below mediocre. Bbq shrimp was soggy and the shell didn’t peel away. The seafood dip was bland cheese with chucks of seafood – no flavor for claiming to be a creole seafood restaurant. Did I mention the slow service.

Wife and I stopped by there on 11-13-19 to grab a bite to eat cause it wasn’t packed like the place next door. Service was very slow and food wasn’t very good. I ordered the Bayou Catfish and the wife ordered Red Beans and rice. Normally Red Beans and rice comes with andouille sausage in it which this did have a few but it also had what looked, smelt, and tasted like breakfast Patty sausages on it. That was a first for us. We ended up not eating the food, just paid the bill and walked down the street to another restaurant.

Great food! We enjoyed everything we had. The crayfish bisque is to DIE FOR. “Slap your mama good” to quote our server, Alvin. He was charming, funny, and gave us great recommendations. He also kindly taught me how to eat the boiled crayfish we ordered! (We were visiting the city and state from Ontario). He was upfront about the fact that there was a very large party inside and not enough servers, so things might be a bit slow which we appreciated. When we went inside to pay the other servers were very attentive, always asking me if I needed anything or if I’d been helped yet while I waited for my friend to come back with his wallet he’d forgotten at home. Still dreaming about that bisque and seafood dip, definitely coming back if I have the chance!
