Very cool hangout… especially when they have crawfish. Laidback bars in different cottages and a courtyard with tables/umbrellas. The offer beer, wine frozen drinks, etc. be aware the anything ordered from “the bar” has an automatic 18% gratuity added.
The crawfish were good… $19 cash only for crawfish, corn, potato and sausage.

Such a fun spot a bit outside downtown New Orleans! We stopped here to grab a drink and a snack while enjoying the beautiful weather on our visit. There’s a lot of indoor and outdoor seating but they also sell crawfish here sometimes and it gets busy!! So just be aware you might not always get a seat easily. Drinks and food were good and service was fast!

Bayou Beer Garden in New Orleans is exactly the kind of place you picture when you think of a classic Mid-City hangout — casual, fun, and perfect for slowing down with friends over drinks and bites. It’s an expansive outdoor beer garden with plenty of space to spread out, shaded patio areas, and a laid-back vibe that feels both social and relaxed.

The beer selection is impressive, with around 50 taps featuring local brews and crowd-pleasers alike, so there’s usually something for everyone. The food menu leans toward hearty comfort fare — think burgers, fries, seafood, and seasonal crawfish during the boil season — all of which pairs perfectly with a cold drink in hand.

What I really enjoy about Bayou Beer Garden is how it makes you want to linger — the outdoor setting with string lights and big communal tables invites conversation, and there’s often a cheerful buzz around you, whether it’s folks catching up, watching the game on a TV, or just unwinding after a long day.

In short, it’s a vibrant yet unpretentious spot that feels like a quintessential New Orleans beer garden — great for casual hangs, seasonal crawfish feasts, and soaking in that easygoing local atmosphere.

So many places to sit. Lots of TVs too. I ordered a Guinness while watching the Saints game. Good crowd but not overly crowded. I enjoyed the vibe. Sound was kept on for the game. It’s a big venue and would come back for a beer.

Love the wine bar! Incredible cocktails! Had no trouble getting a seat at the bar. Try the “Strawberry” – a French 75 made with house-infused strawberry gin. Disco fries are always a palate pleaser, too!

What a treat! First visited for a birthday celebration after work. Loved the space, it has really been a great way to watch a game, food is great. Our third time wasn’t as great. We got there quite early because we wanted to be sure to grab a table under cover in case in rained. We ordered food. And waited, and waited and waited. We asked about it three times, and were told one took longer than the other. We ordered nachos and a hamburger. Both of our orders went wrong. Two drinks each. Even with several burgers being served after our order. Staff tip of 18% is automatically added, but we always add more. It was not crowded, it was poor service.
Hopefully it was a one off. We really like the vibe but, if all that staff continuesblike that on a slow day,!r we’ll likely just swing back over to WRONG IRON.

I’m been coming to this place at least twice a year since 2013. I love this place – it’s like a second home to me and although I’m thousands of miles away, it’s like my local pub.
Amazing atmosphere, incredible staff ( shout out to the Amazing Leigh for being so god damn incredible and the best human ever) and wonderful locals ( Walt, Matt, Jo, Tiffany, Amy, etc) whom i adore and now consider friends.

Wherever I am in the world, the BBG will always be my local.

I love this place so much ❤️

The drinks and food here are good. A great place to hang out especially if you like crawfish. Only down side is no table staff. You have to get thing like napkins and condiments your self. But still this place has a great vibe!

I as a cold old lady (47) went to to front of the bar which is enclosed. I asked if they had Jameson Orange and the Bartender said no but we have crown royal apple.. I like the suggestion but felt slighted.. decided to go to the enclosed bar in back .. I asked the person serviing the drinks was he a bartender or mixologist.. I was told he was whatever I wanted him to be.. yea ok. I drink whiskey .. he made a plum old fashioned great.. while sitting there I was approached by a beautiful confidant as we had a great loving conversation. On return for the business we had done I was given a ticket for a drink .. I had already ordered one round for me and my boyfriend.
When I ordered my second drink I noticed how the bartender put the drink and napkin on in top of the free drink ticket out he hadn’t covered it 100%.. ok no problem.. when it was time to cash out or clean up I saw him swoop the ticket up with the napkins.. I told him I saw what he did and I’d pay regular price . He made a big issue out of it which upset me because he knows what he did ( check your cameras) .. I said I’ll pay the whole tab and he was getting louder and louder with me like if I want a discount just say that etc.. he kept talking.. I got upset after him revealing to give me the full tab minus discounts , he said some very disturbing stuff as if I don’t come to pay !!

Sad case is I’ve been living in this state 5 years and everyone told me this isn’t the place for me .. I see it ! At the end of the day i would rather pay my tab than be barred oh wait. You can var me from your establishment , oh I was, your video will clearly show where it old the bartender don’t worry about the rocket let me pay and leave .
Maybe me asking if they were a bartender or mixologist was something they didn’t like.. but a a self employed Person of 19 years I am not a body rubber, I am greater than a massage therapist, I am a holistic healer .. I felt disrespected and I also apologized to fellow patrons. Watch the camera!!
