We visited for a company end-of-year celebration with a party of 10, and the service was excellent. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made great suggestions, which made ordering easy.
The appetizers were a hit! Everyone loved the Bangin’ Balls and the Poppin’ Champagne Fried Shrimp. The cucumber salad that came with the shrimp was especially delicious. No complaints at the table.
For entrees, the Chicken and Waffles did not disappoint perfectly crispy waffle, tender and flavorful chicken. The Just Right Shrimp and Grits was enjoyed, my coworker mentioned the onions and peppers could have been chopped finer. The Jamaican Dark Rum French Toast was a hit, and overall everyone enjoyed their meals.
Great food, great service, and a solid spot for group dining or celebrations.
The only downside was our server, who seemed a bit rude and slightly annoyed. I understand everyone has off days, but it did make the experience feel a little less welcoming.
Overall, everything else was great, and we’ll definitely be back to give it another try.
Chloe- hostess punctual straight forwards organized friendly
Chantel server patient, punctual
Friendly, always smiled no matter what plus she serves in a classic style of making sure everything is out in the correct place.
Restaurant: clean, theme was cool with the mirrors, service and food times were incredibly fast and the food tastes like it was cooked with love. I see why it’s packed even during nasty weather. And that house hot sauce is fit for anything between eggs and steak. Home fries are a staple and what most restaurants would aim to have. They use real cracked eggs, no mix. Waffles have a good flavor as well. The quality of the menu is coupled with the assortment of flavors and types of food. I give this place a high rating due to all of the charm, friendliness, and punctuation that mirrors the quality of food. I
Started with the Parmesan spinach and crab dip (10/10) flavorful, fresh, and I loved the fried pita bread it came with; so delicious I wanted to order another serving! Also had the Fried chicken and waffle meal (8/10) I think the chicken was amazing; juicy, crunchy skin, good flavor and the tots were tasty as well. The waffle was lackluster for me though especially when I saw the chocolate chips; I was expecting them to be cooked within the waffle not just thrown on top and barely melted. The eggs needed seasoning; even with the cheese, they were flavorless. Besides those couple misses, I still enjoyed my meal.
For drinks, I had the Raspberry sorbet mimosa (9/10) this was new for me and I actually really liked it. Also had a Big jumbo mimosa with cranberry juice (10/10) delicious and so fun/unique; more than enough shared between me and my sister! I also got to taste the “Baymosa” my mom had and I’m def going back for that one!
Added this place to my go to spots list! Definitely coming back for sure!
My overall rate of experience : 9/10
I got the Jamaican Dark Rum French Toast and it was very good. I ordered a side of the garlic Parmesan tots and they were to die for. My husband got the Big Al for the third time because he likes it so much. I tried it and could totally get it next time.
There are so many tasty options on the menu it will be heart to choose. My mother in law recently got the crab cake Bennie and raved about it as well. I’m willing to bet that you would be hard pressed to find something less than amazing on this menu.
Update: we went again when I was up from Texas and it was fantastic just as it was the first time.
I got the apple cider mimosa and the Willis Wharf Special which was delicious while my husband stuck with the Big Al.
To the throwback music, beautiful scenery, damn good hospitality but even better food! Will def be back don’t change a thing!
It is a bit noisy with customers talking, but the food and service outweigh that part.
