After hearing the hype and insta advertisements came here for banthi bhojanam. The-food is very okayish and the service is not good at all. We have to wait for 5 -10 minutes for each item to be served onto our leafs. It really took forever to get some items served even after asking for multiple times. Its still fine, but when we asked for killy its not available its out of stock when you cant handle the crowd please dont pull something like this. And 90$ for 3 people for this kind of service and food is very disappointing.

We were visiting Chicago and were very excited to have Bawarchi biryani after a long time.
So as soon as we reached, we visited the Bawarchi Restaurant at Schaumburg, IL on July 3rd, 2025 and ordered a Family Pack of Veg Dum Biryani.
We were shocked beyond belief when we opened the box to find that it was made using Broccoli and carrots, that too big pieces of them. These pieces looked similar to those found in frozen packets. There was hardly any Dum layer in it. It was completely tasteless. Also there was no Salan given, they gave something similar to Manchurian sauteed with Kadi patta tasting weird too.
We have had Bawarchi Veg Dum Biryani in different cities and it is totally different. In all other cities, the taste was consistent and the one we got here was totally different.
So we went back to the restaurant and the head chef came to speak to us. He said they have stopped making Veg Dum Biryani for a month now but the person who took the order forgot to tell you the same. Then he changed to saying that we just make Dum Biryani on weekends. So we just asked for a refund. On that he said he agreed that it was communication failure from their end but refund was not possible, then he said refund will take 2-3 months to process.
Next, Dhiraj, the restaurant owner spoke to us, but I guess he was misinformed that we are complaining about the quality of the veggies. Looks like the chef is not giving the right picture to Dhiraj.
The main crux is that the Biryani was nothing but some colored rice with Broccoli and carrots with no Dum layer making it tasteless. This is not Bawarchi style Veg Dum Biryani at all.

We were here for the late lunch. Family was hungry. The order was Mixed Chowmin, Navratan Korma, Biryani and Naan.
The food took sometime to reach but overall the taste was good.
Given the location and quality, I feel the place is little costlier.

Not bad Indian restaurant. Chicken Biryani is decent but the service is very good! I see a few complaints about the food but ours came out fine. I guess it’s a hit or miss. Good people though. Also they don’t have Paratha, so don’t believe the pictures; they are very old.

We ordered Kadhai paneer and egg biryani for a take out. The food was ready on time. The place looked clean and well maintained. The waiter helping with order was friendly and polite. I liked the was he interacted in a jovial manner. Food was good the only issue being the spice level. I had asked for medium spice. However, it was very spicy for my palate. The portion was great and the paneer came with a side of rice bowl. The biryani had raita to go with it.

Great place for authentic Indian food at a great price. Wonderfully seasoned biryani, delicious naan and many other tasty dishes. Options for carnivores and herbivores alike. Service is a little slow but staff is friendly. Hand soap in the bathroom is gross industrial smelly soap which was off putting.

We stopped here for dinner on a weekend and it’s the best decision. The food here is beyond delicious. The food arrived quickly and hot. The portion size is beyond Belief, whatever we ordered we had to pack most of it up cus it was a lot! We were so happy and satisfied with this. The staff is polite and nice. The ambience leaves little to be Desired, but we’d rather have amazing food at an average-ambience restaurant than bland food at a fancy beautiful looking restaurant. Parking is enormous. Definitely recommended for families.
