I stopped by for some sweet treats on the way to the Reindeer farm and had a good experience.
It was not busy and selected
a piece of apple strudel, a vanilla custard pretzel, a few
rolls, and a pretzel.
The has a nice selection of breads, rolls, cake like black
forest cherry, pastries
including danish, cinnamon
rolls, croissant, and much
more.
The vanilla custard pretzel
was not too sweet and had
a nice taste to it.
The apple strudel was really
good with firm apples and
a nice pastry around it.
The pretzel had a nice taste
to it and was not soft.
The pretzel roll was really nice
and had a nice taste to it
Located on US Hwy 2 near
Dan’s Market and walking
distance from Front Street
in Leavenworth.
A nice place to stop for a
sweet treat with friendly
service, and a wide range of
German baked goods.

As a previous cake decorator & baker, I def do my research before visiting a bakery & with that said, this is the bakery I made a point in visiting.
It was our first stop in the morning. The pastries were fresh. There was no shortage of custard on the custard pastry. The strudel was moist!
It was such a treat hearing the owner/baker speak German with another customer. You know it’s the real deal!
The place is clean with a few tables & we were lucky enough to get their early for a table.
I’d def go back!

I read up on the Bavarian Bakery which is on the edge of Leavenworth, entering from the Eastside. It’s easy to get to and you don’t have to fight for parking! Come EARLY, as the breads are warm! Great variety (I went around 9:30 am), though my pretzel was a bit on the harder side (will need to microwave it) – have heard mixed reviews on the pretzels, so maybe I just got one from a lesser batch. Was MORE impressed with the raisin bread! SO soft and had golden and regular raisins! Decently priced items! I would’ve gotten a bunch more items, but I was driving quite a distance today. Great place to try out and they bake their goods in store! Super friendly staff! Will go again when I’m in the area! Would give 4.5 stars bc of my pretzel (bc of others’ posts), but will give a 5, bc they had so many other options and that BREAD of theirs! BUY SOME WHILE IT’S WARM!

Chocolate croissant: good flavor in the dough. The chocolate flavor was lacking in my opinion. The croissant had a good golden color, which would lead me to believe it has a good flakey texture. Unfortunately, it was pretty soft. It felt a bit dry and stale in my mouth. But we had this at 10am, which shouldn’t be too late in the day to expect staleness. I wouldn’t get it again, but it was alright.
Cinnamon Roll: also had good flavor, but dry and stale at the same time. Could use a nice toasting to bring it back to life. I wouldn’t get it again.
Pretzel: I liked the contrast of the crispy thin insides and the thick belly on the outside. Nice and chewy, with great pretzel flavor. The mustard was also great. The best pretzel I’ve had in Leavenworth, and good price. I would easily get this again.

We really loved the baked goods here. They have cakes, pastries, pretzels, rolls, and breads. The pretzel was obviously a highlight, served with delicious German mustard. We also got a seed roll and an almond apricot pastry. Prices are really reasonable. The cashier was friendly and helpful. There is limited seating inside, but it feels like more of a grab and go place. Just a couple of parking spots.

This bakery is located across the street from McDonalds and the main strip area of Leavenworth. They’ve got a nice selection of pastries and bread and the owner is from Germany. The pretzels tasted pretty good. They’ve also got a nice shop sticker if you like to collect those.

Staff here were delightful. The baker was passionate about the quality of his ingredients. I purchased a loaf of raisin bread..it was still warm. This is honestly the best bread I have ever had in my entire life and I eat a lot of bread! ; ) I will definitely return. My husband got a gluten free pastry and he really enjoyed it too. Thank you so much!

They have the most amazing gluten free macaroons! My wife can’t eat gluten and we both love baked goods. When we come from Seattle this the first place we go. There are other gf options as well but the macaroons are special!

This place is a little gem. The lady who runs it is amazing. And there are rows upon rows of baked goodies which all look and taste amazing. I initially got a pretzel and a slice of the black forest cake. Both were authentic German style, the pretzel traditionally dipped in lye, and the cake oozing with cherry syrup and cream. Later I saw the breads, there were so many types and there were samples to try for everything. Ended up buying a whole loaf of the raisin bread. Its a bit away from the traditionally decorated core of Leavenworth which makes it even more tranquil and cute and I can’t wait to return.
