Unique setting for a restaurant. The service was very good and our meals of Moqueca Baiana with snapper & Sarava Key Lime Chicken were enjoyable. The appetizer of Minas Cheese wasn’t what we expected, but still good. Our desserts were excellent: Pudim de Leite and churros dulce de leche!!!

This review is based on our dinner on a Saturday evening after 8 P.M.

We arrived early for our reservation and were seated promptly downstairs, which was a first for us. A gentleman poured us water, and we had time to look over the menu. Unfortunately, it took about 10 minutes before our server, Denise, came to greet us.

We ordered the shrimp malagueta, side of plantains, and ensopado de porco. The food arrived in a timely manner. However, my mariscada was missing key ingredients clearly listed on the menu, specifically crab and fish. There was also no check-in from our server after appetizer and entrees were delivered.

When I waved Denise down to ask about my entree, she stated that the crab and fish were incorporated into the sauce and therefore not served in pieces. I did share with her that I ate the dish less than 4 weeks ago and there were definitely pieces in there. She took my plate to the kitchen, spoke with whomever, and returned to inform me that they have been out of fish and crab for about a month and have been substituting additional shrimp and calamari instead. While I understand supply challenges happen, this information should have been shared before ordering. My reservation that evening was centered around ordering the mariscada specifically for its seafood blend, so this was disappointing.

I left feeling let down by the experience. I’ve been a loyal customer of Batuqui for over five years and have always supported the restaurant, its robust food and beverage menu, and evening specials. Regrettably, this evening has altered my perception of a place I’ve long enjoyed.

First time here and definitely coming back to try more of the menu. I had the Lamb Chops and asparagus (YUMMY seasoning) and my wife had the Brazilian Seafood Stew (the coconut milk was flavorful).

We started with a Brazilian Wax cocktail and for appetizers we added Calmari and Fried Plantains (so sweet with crispy edges).

If I had to complain….I will say the seats are not very comfortable for my old back and for the price per person value….I wouldn’t mind having some cushion to my seat.

We will be back for more!!

Loved the experience at Batuqui and especially loved the Brazilian food market in the basement. Was able to pick up some tasty foods that I had while in Brazil and bring it home to recreate on my own. Thank you for the inspiration and ability to do that.
Our meals were amazing! My friends all said “I’ll be taking half of my dinner home” and both of them Ate their entire meal And shared dessert! We got the coconut butter cake and let me tell you, it’s. MUST TRY! Wow is all I can say! I forgot a photo because we all ate it so fast. It was Amazing! I was so happy they enjoyed it too! Our server Alex was even able to accommodate my food allergies and eliminate them from my meal to my pure delight! Muito Obrigada!
Large parties? They have a lower level that can accommodate larger groups or private parties too! Who knew?!

Let’s start off with saying, wow!

This was my first time here and I was blown away with how good it was. The food is full of flavor and there’s lots of variety to pick from. This is an old church that was renovated and turned into a restaurant. The inside is elegant, but yet not over the top. The menu has extremely nice selections for a modest price point and a fully stocked bar to cover all of your desires. The service was amazing and every single thing we ordered was just an explosion of flavor in our mouth! There is a fair bit of parking around the building and on the street area and the overall location was neat and clean, but you definitely need to climb steps to get in and out so if you are in a wheelchair, you might need to call ahead to see what provisions they have to get you in. I have nothing bad to say about this location and will definitely visit again myself in the near future!!!

I went there today with a big group of food lovers and they all loved the Brazilian food from Batuqui! Staff was great and the food was delicious. This new location is amazing. I had the moqueca baiana (photo) and the passion fruit caipiroska(drink). . Highly recommend Batuqui.

Tried this amazing restaurant with a large women’s group. I ordered the Moqueca Baiana – a Dairy free, gluten free. Traditional Brazilian stew from Bahia with tomato, onions, cilantro, organic coconut milk and dende oil, served with Brazilian rice. It was AMAZING!!!

I tried a traditional cocktail called caipirinha, a refreshing mix of muddled lime and sugar, shaken with ice and cachaça, a sugarcane spirit.

Had the coconut butter cake for dessert!! It’s served warm and was delicious!!

Highly recommend! Will be back.

Wow!! This place is phenomenal. Real, authentic Brazilian cuisine. The atmosphere is great, and lots of outside seating with heat lamps. Everything on this menu looked great, it was hard to narrow it down what to get. They had a social of the day that was a seafood stew (moqueca) cooked by the owner in a clay pot, and it was the star of the dinner. The pasta, steak, and mussels were all delicious as well. The caipirinha was a great cocktail to pair!

I have been going here a few years. They have recently moved to a beautiful spacious location. They were in a house up the street (now for lease). Usually when locations go bigger they lose something. Well…… I can say that everything is still 5 star (Google of course). The owner is still running around making sure things are in order. The service is top notch but most of all the food. The food is absolutely wonderful. I had the veggie plater with a Brazilian steak on the side ( don’t judge me, I like veggies and it was my birthday dinner). I also had the cocada for dessert (so good I can still taste it). Back to that steak…. it was cooked perfectly, omg. I literally was dipping the meat backing the drippings. It was so good. I highly recommend this place 10 out 10.
