Stopped in here for a coffee (half/half + honey) & a bit to eat. Had an everything bagel & a breakfast burrito (w/ sausage). The ladies working were very polite & the atmosphere was excellent. It was just a pretty peaceful place to be. I highly recommend visiting Battle Born Coffee if you’re able to.

Honestly one of the best places for coffee, the ladies are all super friendly and if you become a regular they’ll usually start making your coffee as soon as they see you walk in! Always super fast as well! I love going there when im in town

While on a cross-country road trip from NC we stopped for the night in Winnemucca. I always search for locally owned coffee shops. I found Battle Born on ChatGPT & read the menu beforehand on google. After reading the “bad” reviews I HAD to go try it (knowing I was already going based on the menu anyway). Like I figured (again, based on the “bad” reviews) this is a great little coffee shop! I ordered the Golden Gate (now a new favorite flavor combo for me) and it was delicious. My son enjoyed a breakfast burrito with an Italian soda + boba. My husband had a coffee with steamed half & half on top. My mother-in-law enjoyed a raspberry chai latte. We’ve officially had coffee in 45/50 states and this one is worth coming back to!

Listen, if you find yourself in Winnemucca, you’ve likely either made a wrong turn at Reno or your parole officer lives here. It’s a town where the primary exports are sagebrush, regret, and people smoking cigarettes while playing slots at a gas station at 4:00 AM.
But Battle Born Coffee? This place is a miracle. It is a literal oasis in a desert of despair.

I pulled into the drive-thru behind a 1994 Ford Ranger held together by prayer, rust, and a “Don’t Tread on Me” bumper surfaced in 2008. The driver—a man wearing a 10-gallon hat had four loose propane tanks rattling in the bed like a percussion section for the apocalypse. He looked like he was heading back to Paradise Ranchos to continue his lifelong quest of trying Grease the splines on his bench vise.

I figured if the coffee could satisfy a man who probably hasn’t seen a vegetable since the Bush administration, it was good enough for me.

The Verdict:
The Winnemocha: Dark chocolate, amaretto, and almond. It tastes like heaven, which is a stark contrast to the view outside, which looks like a deleted scene from The Hills Have Eyes.

The Breakfast Burrito: Massive. It’s got more structural integrity than most of the mobile homes in the Ranchos. The cheese is real, unlike the dental work of the guy I saw trying to sell a catalytic converter in the parking lot.

The Vibe: The staff is actually friendly and fast. They managed to get my order out before the Ranger in front of me could fully leak its entire oil pan onto the pavement.

If you’re passing through this dust-coated fever dream of a town, stop here. It’s the only way to get a buzz in Winnemucca that won’t result in a felony charge or a mandatory 72-hour psych hold.

10/10. Would risk the Ford Ranger traffic again.

Battle Born Coffee Shop is a cute little convenient stop located right as you pass thru the small town of Winnemucca. While I thought it’s food menu was limited, I want to give major props to their owner for the extensive list of created drinks dubbed “The Originals” featuring cleverly named caffeinated concoctions. There is so much to choose from! See menu picture.

My pick me up was the Winnemocha (dark chocolate, amaretto and almond flavoring). If you like Almond Joys or Mounds, this is the drink for you! I ordered mine nonfat and it still tasted amazing! I loved the combination of the dark chocolate and amaretto, it was perfectly sweet!

For breakfast my husband and I both snagged some breakfast burritos. WOW!!! First off, these burritos are definitely made in house and fresh! The cheese that was used was soooo good, it tasted like the creamy nacho cheese from Tostitos. I honestly didn’t need the drops of Tapatio but I’m not going to ignore hot sauce when it’s there. It made the burrito so good! And it was nice and HOT!!! Hubby and I both agreed our burritos hit the dang spot.

I would 10/10 recommend Battle Born Coffee and stop by a second time if I ever find myself around town again!!!

breakfast burritos of american cheese and powdery textured (frozen?) potato absolutely torn my stomach up. all their listed drinks are crazy sugar concoctions. my “mexican sol” tasted like hersheys chocolate milk, even when i asked very light on the chocolate and sweet things- i couldn’t taste any espresso at all. i ended up tossing the drink and regretting the burrito. Just a lot of sugar and processed stuff, my best wishes to anyone’s stomachs who stop here. that all being said the staff were very sweet and friendly ladies, so i gave service 5/5

I will not not stop at boutique coffee shops. I’m a Nevadan at heart but live in Oregon, so when we drove through Winnemucca and saw Battle Born Coffee I absolutely had to stop. Super cute shop, coffee was good, and I impulse bought a mug I didn’t need. Told my family in Reno to come visit if they were ever in town!
