A really nice place. Used to come to camping here in Holly several times a year when I was growing up but I have no recollection of town so, I stopped in on the way to Flint for a brewery & lunch.
Service is pretty good, beertenders are quick, professional, as well.
It is a bit over halfway full and it is more than a little loud. The music can barely be heard over the other conversations.
The BBQ burger was very good. Single patty was $12 & a half, double was near $17. A bit pricey but not uncommon. Got a side of jalapeño cornbread for $3.25. It was good but for the price, should’ve been twice as much, easily.
Beers were very good. They were the main reason for stopping.
The owners genuinely care about their guests and made a point to stop by our table to check in. The wait staff was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always ready with a great recommendation.
There’s a large assortment of beers, and we especially loved that their seltzers are homemade—the watermelon and blueberry flavors were so delicious and refreshing. Every dish we tried was excellent, but the ribs, soft pretzels, sweet potato fries, and fried Oreos were true standouts.
The combination of delicious food, amazing drinks, top-notch service, and a welcoming vibe made our visit unforgettable.
Highly recommend Battle Alley Brewery to anyone in the area or passing through Holly, MI!
My wife got the build your own comfort combo thing and that was really good.
I got the Battle Burger and it was terrible. I like a sweet and savory dish but this was so insanely sweet that i couldn’t taste anything else, not the beef, not the tomatoes, not the bun or cheese, nothing but raw brown sugar, so much so that the texture of the burger I would describe as gritty and sand like. Donuts are not as sweet as this burger. You could halve the sugar and still have a very sweet burger.
I would go again but I wouldn’t go near that burger.
And then my biggest complaint is the price structure. This is a brewery, not Ruth’s steak house. There’s no reason everything should be ala-carte. If you order a burger or sandwich, it should come with fries and you can upgrade to tots, or Mac or whatever.. and then I’ve never been to a brewery where we usually get a flight, and every drink was charged as almost a short beer price, it was $4 and $4.75 each small portion of beer for a flight! That’s absurd. Flights are typically $10-12 no matter where we go, not $16-18!
My guess, by the lack of amount of patrons on a Saturday night, we’re not the only ones who think pricing is a little outrageous.
So needless to say, unfortunately we won’t be back. Which is sad because we did enjoy the food. The Mac and Cheese that my wife got was pretty good she said. Which is sad why we’re torn on this review.
I ordered the Pork Rinds as an app which were . The Battle Burger was good but was too sweet for my tastes.
