We loved how flexible they were in helping us design a dessert table that matched our wedding theme, budget, and guest count. They worked with us at a tasting consultation to come up with unique flavor combinations and ensured everything would be fresh and delicious.
Taste: The desserts were nothing short of spectacular! Each treat was bursting with flavor—our guests couldn’t stop talking about the mini desert shooters, cream puffs, and the whoopie pies. For our bride and groom wedding cakes the layers were moist, and the frosting was perfectly balanced—not too sweet, just the right amount of creaminess. We also appreciated that they offered gluten-free and vegan options, which made all of our guests feel included.
Presentation: On the wedding day, the setup of the dessert table was beautifully arranged. Batter Up made a beautiful cake for our wedding this past June. We got a small two-tier cake to be displayed, and a couple of sheet cakes for guests to enjoy and it was perfect! After a tasting, we decided on a layer of almost cake with raspberry jam and buttercream, and a second flavor of chocolate chip cake with the cannoli cream. Both were out of this world!
Julie, the owner, was so kind, thorough, and easy to work with! Not only was the cake beautiful, our guests also commented on how delicious it was and kept asking where it was from. This place is dope! Food is delicious and all their selections of pastries. I actually had a hard time choosing, then I saw pumpkin danish. When I first walked up to the outside counter I was immediately given a cool response from the baker behind the screen, who took my order. Great personality. I met the owner, she’s super cool. I’m from Maine, this place feels like home. Love what you have done here, great job!

Batter Up Bakery is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of Chocorua. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this cozy spot is a must visit. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the comforting aroma of fresh-baked goods and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The pastries are phenomenal! Everything is homemade, with just the right balance of sweetness and care. The cinnamon buns are my absolute favorite! I’ll tell you a secret.. ask them to heat it up for you! They also offer a great selection of coffee and tea, making it the perfect place to start your morning or take a relaxing break in the afternoon. The staff are friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about what they do. It feels more like visiting a friend’s kitchen than a business In the best way. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the area. Small-town charm, big-time flavor!

As another small business owner, I can appreciate when I see hard work and love go into a product/business. Julie is a 1 woman show who occasionally has 2 others working with her. She fulfills multiple large wedding orders for breakfast, lunch as well as dessert each weekend and still manages to keep her doors open for her local regulars as well as tourists that pass through on their travels. She is the 1st to open early and offer free coffee to line workers, DPW, 1st responders & plow drivers during the winter. She will greet you with a smile and is always happy to customize your order for you. Stand up owner and human being! We have been ordering from her for 5 years now for our own family as well as countless wedding groups and never once has anyone been disappointed. Highly recommend stopping by!
Just keep in mind that here in the Valley, we are a VERY popular spot for tourists and sometimes on the weekends our small mom and pop shops can be extremely busy. Be patient, be kind & plan ahead accordingly for the quickest and most pleasant experience.

The food is okay, the pastries are way too sweet, and the woman taking our order seemed to be visibly upset that we were ordering food. It served well as a pit stop for lunch on our way home, but I wouldn’t seek this place out.

We used Batter Up for our wedding at The Preserve at Chocorua and are so happy we did! Julie is so friendly and great to work with. We wanted to do cupcakes and a small cutting cake, and she was so helpful with flavors and designs. On the wedding day, she told us to just leave our cake cutting set and flowers on the table and she would set everything up. It looked AMAZING. Our guests loved the cupcakes, and they were truly beautiful. I’d highly recommend Batter Up!
