Battalion delivered an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. I was warmly greeted by both the hostess and the servers, which set the tone right away. The ambience was beautiful—low lighting with cool, modern decor. The table setup was minimal yet stylish, adding to the overall vibe.
The pacing of the meal was perfect; dishes came out at just the right times without feeling rushed or delayed. The beef tartare was hands down the best I’ve had in San Antonio. The appetizers were equally impressive—especially the spinach dumplings and the trenne bombay.
Entrée portions were satisfying and well-balanced, leaving room for dessert. Dessert was delicious, particularly the s’mores panna cotta, though I did wish it had been presented in a more special way given that we were celebrating a birthday.
Overall, Battalion offers excellent food, service, and atmosphere, and it’s definitely a place I’d return to.

I really enjoyed how low key the space was — from the lighting to the noise level. I really enjoyed being able to have a casual conversation. Additionally, they have diverse wine selection and the food was really good. Our server was really kind and they were so thoughtful to bring a free cake for my birthday. FYI you can get discounted parking at one of the lots so make sure you ask before hand.

Dropped by to enjoy their battalion menu once again; Kelly was the best tonight, treating us with true care and remembering our faces from months ago! The Manicotto Di Spinach is one of our go-tos with the bread service as appetizer!
My partner tried the Parmesan Eggplant and was absolutely delightful, hopefully Kelly is present next time we visit, he’s the best ! <3

We went for the restaurant week menu. It was a great first time at Battalion! The converted firehouse is a neat venue and the food was perfectly seasoned. There was a good wine selection to pair with the meal.

Kelly and Wasey made me and my mothers night. It was our second time dining in, and luckily we got kelly again. One of the most attentive and personable servers I’ve ever had. The menu had just changed and Wasey called us to confirm we were aware of the menu changes, with those changes it was still a phenomenonal menu. Cannot wait to have another amazing experience soon. Highly recommend the lobster toast and tuna tartare. 10/10.

I honestly would probably give them a 3 1/2 and the reason for this rating is because the restaurant although it was beautiful the staff was super nice our Waiter Kelley was very nice and helpful four people at our table ordered the steak which is a $40 steak. I ordered mine medium well three other people ordered there’s medium rare, four of our steaks were pretty much cooked the same and they were all overcooked not only that but they put some kind of rosemary on top of the steaks and it was charred so it gave the steak a burnt taste now this is disappointing because $40 for a steak is not cheap so I expected a wow factor and did not get that The pasta was wonderful. I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t homemade because for a place like that with those prices, I would expect that to be homemade, but it was still good. One other thing that took me by surprised is the restrooms theybsre unisex, which is fine but if you’re gonna have it that way, you definitely need somebody checking on those restrooms. I went to two different restrooms toilet seats were up and there was pee on the floor, not something I expected from a restaurant like that. I give it a 7 out of 10, and that’s probably be nice. I might go back again, but it would probably only be for a glass of wine and an appetizer.

Before coming to San Antonio, I checked out several places to eat near the hotel where I was staying. And I’m glad I chose this one. My friend and I decided to eat outside, which was nice, but despite it being a busy evening, our food didn’t take too long to arrive at our table. The food was great, and our server was sweet and funny. I’m no fan of spiders, but I did like that the restaurant decided to decorate the outside with them, lol. Go check this place out!

Had an incredible evening at Battalion tonight celebrating my wife’s birthday!! I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while now and this was a perfect opportunity for a date night.
For starters we had the spinach dumplings and the the meatballs, both were delicious but my favorite were the dumplings by far. For our mains we had the lamb chops and the tenderloin, both incredible. For sides we shared the green beans, the cavatappi, and the manacotti pasta. We were so delighted with all of it and almost too full for dessert….but still sampled the smores panna cotta and the tiramisu.
Our server was over the top friendly and helpful, assisted with drink selections and never left us waiting or wanting for anything. (I am so sorry I forgot his name, but he even took a picture of us to celebrate the evening!)

Me and my boyfriend went for our anniversary and we had the same server (wacey) as last time and let me just say… he is absolutely amazing. we have never experienced such great service BOTH times. he was kind, attentive , and very helpful with the menu. The food was great!! We can’t wait to come back again and get his great service. Seriously an amazing guy!
