Loves the atmosphere here. Came for happy hour and enjoyed our snacks and beer. The farmer’s market grilled cheese had cheese, arugula, tomato, and pesto—delicious! Also order the mini burgers—the beef was really flavorful. For beer we went with their 2 IPAs and enjoyed them both. On happy hour draft beer is only $5! They also offer $5 house wine and $3 off their signature cocktails. The inside has 2 bars and plenty of seating. I really enjoyed the crackling fire and decorations

This place is elaborately decorated for Christmas, which was the main draw to coming, but also meant it was very busy. We made a reservation a month in advance. The wait at the door for people who didn’t have a reservation was 90 min and up for 2 people. I wouldn’t say the food is worth a long wait, but if you’re in it for the decor and atmosphere, then it can’t be beat. Definitely try the duck fat cornbread (pictured). This location is better than the Kennebunkport location, which is very small and even more packed.

The Batson River brewery location in Portland is one of my favorites, because I usually find it to be less crowded and more relaxed than the locations in Wells and Kennebunkport.
The menu is filled with amazing food.
A great selection of craft beer, although my favorites tend to be their year-round classics (the IPAs).
Also, the whoopie pie flight is a must for dessert.
This location also has darts and shuffleboard available for guests to enjoy.

Service was awesome. Food was so good. I definitely recommend this place. There was a woman with blonde hair and she had a party of 6-8 girlies. Me being one of them. And with how stressful that can be. She had a smile on her face and was just the sweetest. Didn’t seem stress about our orders and when we stayed longer than we should she was patient. And let us keep the reservation a bit longer. Thanks so much for that!

We were a party of 6 at the Portland location. It was Beautifully decorated for Christmas! The atmosphere was amazing. The food was good and the service better. I’m giving it only 4 stars because the drinks were tiny and really expensive. A raspberry cosmo priced $16 and additional $3 just because it wasn’t on the menu. Their crafted drinks were $17 and $18 served in small glasses.

This place is very festive and beautiful! My friend and I felt lucky to get reservations. Busy place! The menu has great variety. I unfortunately ordered the $42 steak that was over cooked and tough with lots of gristle. I really think it was just a bad cut. Our server offered to send it back but I don’t like to waste food. I’ve eaten at their other restaurant at the Lincoln Hotel and the food was perfect. I had brussel sprouts at both restaurants and these were rather greasy. The restaurant at the Lincoln were just right. I will come back, but hope they tweak their kitchen.

This place is for tourists. Typical Portland prices for one of those upscale restaurants. Overly priced with poor portions. I genuinely couldn’t believe how small the charcuterie board was especially for $30. I knew it wouldn’t be exceptionally large, but it was laughable. The drinks are nothing special.very limited options cocktail wise. You’re lucky if you get 2.0 OZ of liquid total. You don’t feel welcome inside. The atmosphere reminds me of one those pushy Boston bars with nothing but fancy decor to back them up. Guess the decor and “designer” brand is what you really pay for.

We found out about Batson River when making a list of places to visit in Maine while watching YouTube videos about Portland. This was one of our best experiences while visiting Maine! Our waiter was Michael and he was amazing! The vibes at Batson River are great and I just loved all of the decor! We ate at a table and then moved to the couch under the moose to hang out while having another drink. We weren’t pressured to leave or pay our bill right away but were encouraged to hang out, play some games and have a good time. They also have a cute store where you can purchase merchandise and their own distillery onsite. This location does gin and vodka but different liquors such as bourbon and whiskey can be found at their other locations and even in local stores. The duck fat cornbread was great, double Batson burger and wings amazing! We ordered the Home Sweet Pineapple and Midnight Sun as drinks and both were delicious. If we’re ever in Portland again (which we plan to be) we would definitely return to Batson River!

Really Great atmosphere and vibe at Batston Brewing! It’s a cool place to hang out, and they have some great beers! I will say some cocktails, especially the Espresso Martini, are a little disappointing. The food is where the negative comes in. I don’t think it’s bad, but it’s very average, nothing special, and many items are just not worth ordering. The staff is great though and super efficient!

I really, really hate to do this but this visit was not great. The positives: the host was quite pleasant and the wait was only 15 minutes on a Saturday night. Bartender was friendly and took our orders promptly. We ordered apps and waited about 40 mins since placing our order (to which only about 5 minutes prior did the bartender mention the food was coming soon) they brought our meals first. About 10 minutes later one app came. Then another 5 minutes and the other app arrived. They did comp one of the appetizers, but only after saying we didnt want it and they brought it anyway and told us it was on the house. That was a nice gesture. The bartender didnt ask us how anything was until we were almost done eating. He walked by us many times and this was late at night so it had slowed down. I have worked in the industry for a long time as a manager. I understand the types of things that can happen in a restaurant. It just wasnt handled right. Then my dad’s taco shells were rock hard and he couldnt bite into them. My mom’s fish and chips was brown looking like the re-fried it. My salad was fantastic. Food was hot. Fries were not French fries. Im guessing they ran out and did home fries. We should have been informed. All of these things seem small, but they add up. We still tipped well, but this was not a great visit. Everyone was very kind, however.
