Food- 3/5
Service – 4/5
Prior booking of the table is recommended. Spice levels of the items can be customised based on your preference
There is an open area outside the restaurant where live music was being played. The ambience and location of the restaurant is really good.
Service time can be improved. I tried Pad Thai with Tofu and it wasn’t that great. Fried rice was good. Drinks are available, Sprite is not mentioned in the menu but can be served. If you are interested in having any non alcoholic beverages, please do enquire.
Bit overpriced

Great thai restaurant. The food served here is very rich and tasty. The service provided is good. The receptionist was not so warm though. She had a hard time greeting us with a smiling face. Our waitress was caring. Order shrimp stuffed with chicken as a started and shrimp fried rice. Both were delicious. The interiors are well designed. Its a cozy place to dine in and enjoy your food.

HORRIBLE! Doesn’t even deserve a 1 star.
Today, Saturday afternoon, we watched a movie and came to eat at Basil Thai.
We (my husband and I) ordered Pad Thai with Tofu (asked to make it spicy) and Red Curry with Tofu.
The hostess came and gave us the food and never came back to check in with us if everything was ok.
Pad Thai was DISGUSTING. Forget spicy. This dish was extremely Sweet. It felt like it was cooked in sugar.
The quantity wasn’t worth the dollars nor was the taste.
Just look at the picture I posted. I have not eaten Pad Thai anywhere that looks or even tastes like this.
Red curry was alright.
We ordered 2 dishes but ate from 1.
The hostess came to us finally and said….should I pack this (the Pad Thai)? To which we said NO. She didn’t even care to ask us if everything was ok or not. Just handed us the payment machine and left with our plates.
I have eaten at Basil Thai before multiple times at this location and the uptown location but this experience was PATHETIC.

To give the benefit of the doubt, I was there on a Monday, which is usually a slower day for restaurants. But…
I saw the menu online and it had some of my favorite dishes. So I was excited to visit for the first time.
Ive tried most of the other Thai food restaurants within a 10 mile radius, and this one would be at the bottom of my list.
Our group ordered spring rolls, pho, hot and sour soup, larb, and red curry. Outside of the red curry, every other dish was not worth finishing. So bummed!
In addition to that, service was slow and we felt forgotten, even though there was only 2-3 other parties at the restaurant.
I generally look for the good in every restaurant… and the fact that the service was friendly when they got to us, is why I gave them a second star.

Love this place because of the outdoor patio. Tasty Thai food. Prices seem a little high for the portions but you always know you’re going to get a solid meal. The beef salad is wonderful. The staff is always friendly and eager to make your experience a good one. Really have no complaint about this place.

Such a lovely place for lunch. From the moment we walked in, everyone was super attentive and friendly. Our server, Paul, was honestly one of the best waiters I’ve ever had (And I’m from NYC, home of some of the best restaurants in the country). Very cordial and helpful. Excited about the food here and knowledgeable about menu and ingredients. Made good recommendations. We started with the fried wontons (yum yum yum) and I had the beef pad see eu. My friend had the shrimp basil dish. Everything was DELICIOUS!! The beef was tender and flavorful and the basil was very fresh (I would hope so!). Highly recommend this place. By the way, the mango sticky rice was SLAMMIN’!

Food was good but service was the worst. Server had an attitude as if the food was served for free. To top it off, she charged us 20% gratuity for a table of 4. This was a rip off and will be my last visit to basil. I would prefer going to rice and spice or thai house any given day in Charlotte. The worst thing was the table behind us server was over friendly and when we asked it was a cold dry treatment.

We had green curry and Thai noodles. Green curry was nothing but coconut milk and barely any vegetables. Thai noodles were nothing but some noodles in marinara or some tomato sauce. The item should have been named spaghetti not Thai noodles:There bunch of unreserved seats ready by the time we arrived but we were asked to wait for 10 min making us think if there were no tables or the restaurant was busy but none of this was true. Waiter was utterly rude and didn’t attend us even they were not waiting anyone. We requested to take out egg from fried rice but our request was rejected. Utterly disappointed and upset. We would never visit there again. Portions were small and not worth the price.

Our waiter was outstanding, we made reservations early for dinner and it was a nice relaxed atmosphere. The food was absolutely yummy! I had the vegetable fried rice with tofu and my husband had the pad thai. Overall a genuinely good dining experience and we would definitely recommend for a nice dinner night out. The spice levels can be customized so if you are worried about spice this os a great place to try a fusion thai/asian dish with less spice.
