Basil is great for a late lunch and to escape the heat and crowds. Ashley suggested the mango martini and the medium spicy Pad See-Eu flat noodle) with crispy tofu and only a few broccoli pieces. Delicious! It came out with the proper heat (steam appreciated!) Great balance of sweetness and spice. I added more chiles because who doesn’t mind nose sniffles. Enjoy and take some home for leftovers or share with a friend!

We had green curry and Thai noodles. Green curry was nothing but coconut milk and barely any vegetables. Thai noodles were nothing but some noodles in marinara or some tomato sauce. The item should have been named spaghetti not Thai noodles:There bunch of unreserved seats ready by the time we arrived but we were asked to wait for 10 min making us think if there were no tables or the restaurant was busy but none of this was true. Waiter was utterly rude and didn’t attend us even they were not waiting anyone. We requested to take out egg from fried rice but our request was rejected. Utterly disappointed and upset. We would never visit there again. Portions were small and not worth the price.

If you’re really really hungry and want some real authentic Thai, don’t go here I got the fresh rolls and they were SO SMALL. I should’ve taken a photo of it in my hand bc it was the size of my palm. I think it had one shrimp cut in half and literally one basil leaf with some rice noodles. I also got the chicken larb. I think they need a new chef. Chicken larb was light on the rice powder and they added some sweet grilled onions. Don’t do it y’all.

The atmosphere is quite nice but the music choice is awful and loud and it takes away from the whole atmosphere. The music choice was the type you would play in a loud bar setting, we couldn’t even have a conversation. The music should be soft and mellow. I won’t be back if that doesn’t change. The food is decent but not spectacular.

Had the veggie fried rice and green curry with tofu for lunch. Complemented with a cold spring roll. It was beyond amazing. The service was also spot on.

I’ve have been meaning to write this review for sometime but never got around to it until now. I’m writing now because time and time again, I’ve consistently been let down by the waitstaff and by the food itself. The first time I came to Basil, I didn’t know what to expect because the reviews were all over the place. I have always ordered the Green Curry because it’s definitely one of my favorites yet Basil’s version has been slightly watered down and bland.

The photo does not do this serving justice. It is a child’s portion for $22. And it’s not like it’s any better than you’d get at a less expensive place. Very disappointed.

Elle our server was excellent! She was very knowleadgable and fast, as well as efficient! The manager George, was a pleasure to talk to and made my family feel very welcome and comfortable! Very humorous as well, let’s just say Basil Restaurant made my day!

Food was good but service was the worst. Server had an attitude as if the food was served for free. To top it off, she charged us 20% gratuity for a table of 4. This was a rip off and will be my last visit to basil. I would prefer going to rice and spice or thai house any given day in Charlotte. The worst thing was the table behind us server was over friendly and when we asked it was a cold dry treatment.
