Menu prices are not accurate. Prices being charged are significantly higher than the prices in the menus provided. Menus are considering legally binding contracts. If the prices consumers are being charged are different from the ones shown in the menu it needs to be clearly communicated. There is a chalkboard to the left when you walk in where a message is written at the bottom about prices increasing (photo included), understandably given the economic state of our country. But the message does not say that the prices are not yet updated in the menu, it just says there has been an increase so for customers that aren’t familiar with their prices there is no way for us to know that the menus provided are a version that is not up to date. Also, the host stand is to the right so customers are less likely to see the board that’s to the left in a corner. This is illegal and if there is some loophole that lets them get away with this it’s incredibly manipulative and disrespectful to their customers. I understand prices needing to be increased, but there needs to be transparency regarding prices. The message on the board is not sufficient, as it does not clarify that the menus prices aren’t accurate. As customers we were never told the menu prices are inaccurate, and that information was not posted anywhere in the establishment available to us. Everything is $2-3+ more expensive than on the menu. Apparently this change went into effect early this week, but menus will be updated sometime later this week. The food and service was amazing, but this is incredibly unacceptable from management.

So good!!

We ate at Basil of Monroe and absolutely loved it! The food was fresh, full of flavor, and everything came out hot and perfectly cooked. The sushi was amazing, and the fried rice was some of the best I’ve had around here.

The staff was super friendly and made us feel right at home. You can tell they really care about their customers. The whole place has a nice, cozy vibe too — great for a date night or dinner with friends.

If you haven’t tried Basil yet, you’re missing out! Definitely one of my new favorite spots in Monroe.

The food was good, but my lettuce wraps had a smaller portion and I’m sad the prices have increased. Beware of this b/c they do not have this updated anywhere on their menus. A previous review on here said there’s a note written on a chalkboard saying: “Due to food cost going up, we have also increased our prices.” I was shocked that I dropped almost $70 on three dishes (NOT sushi) and some eggrolls when my family went here for dinner this week.

I moved here from Seattle, and have been to Thailand, so I ordered knowing my expectations were high for Thai food.
Service was excellent, but the curries lack Thai flavor. I was not asked for a heat level and the rice is plain, not Jasmine. Also real green curry does not have peas and corn in it, and there was no green pepper or eggplant in it which is standard in green curry. Panang curry also lacked Thai flavor.
On a positive note they loaded it with chicken and vegetables, just not the right kind. For the same price as Seattle (15.95) I expect more Thai flavor.

RUN AWAY ‍♂️
I was really excited to try thai food HERE. I have had pad thai in past at others genuine thai place but this place is the most horrible experience i have ever had in my life. The pad thai was smelling like spoiled mix of all stale food. Egg tasted like it was rotten and it was all nauseating. On top of that they have the audacity to charge me for something i could not even eat any further. All my friends at the table tried so that i make sure if i am not the only one and they all felt nauseated. I had vomiting afterward. Lousiana food and restaurant officer need to check in their kitchen. I just saw so many review and people had same horrible experience with this. I believe reporting is must for this restaurant. PLEASE SKIP THIS PLACE ! PLEASE!! PLEASE!!! I wish there was option of giving minus ➖.

As a vegan and a vegetarian, my boyfriend and I found plenty of delicious options. The basil Thai entree with tofu and fried rice was warm, comforting and flavorful. Tofu fried rice and jungle curry were excellent as well. We received attentive, friendly service from the moment we entered. I’d recommend Basil of Monroe to anyone looking for a satisfying meal.

Rice noodles weren’t even cooked with my pho. The pho broth was greasy and the shrimp were disgusting. 15% gratuity on a take out order is ridiculous.

I am a big fan of Tom Kha soup especially with seafood proteins. They made exceptionally good Tom Kha. Fried Kalamari was good but it was kind of overpriced (my opinion), Pad Kee Maow was so delicious.

Overall food taste was 8.5/10 which I believe is really really good rating. Service was also standard, atmosphere was calm. Definitely deserves a revisit.

The food here was really great. There service here is amazing as well. Our waiter was fantastic. He was very professional and knows etiquette that most waiters don’t. Food took longer than expected, but it was definitely worth it. I recommend this place if you’re looking for a place to eat when you’re in the area.
