Oh my goodness, the food is exceptional. The burrata is so tender and tasty, I couldn’t stop eating it. And the pizza, perfection. Fire grilled pizza, with those slightly charred bubbles on the crust I reach for first. The sauce is so fresh, I just loved every bite. Beautiful views of Pikes Peak to top it off. Highly recommend.

Very well cooked, delicious pizza. Hands down excellent. As mentioned by others, there is a decent selection of beers, including local. Our issue, and the only reason not a five-star review, salt. We debated if the salt was due to all the different cheeses or just salt. We always drive around town with water bottles. My wife never drinks hers. By the time we finished our errands today, she not only finished her bottle but drank half of mine as well.

We tried this place for the first time this evening and while we enjoyed our food, it wasn’t a home run for us.
Our server was great and attentive. We ordered three menu items: Cesar salad (large), appetizer- Angioletti, and a pizza- carnefice. The salad was just okay. Some of the lettuce was brown on the ends and it just could have been more fresh. The appetizer was very good. We’ve never tried anything like it. It was served immediately after our salad and so we felt a bit rushed to eat both items. Then just a few short minutes into eating our salad and appetizer, our pizza was delivered. Our server apologized that it came out so quickly. It wasn’t her fault. It was just all so rushed out to us and we were going for a more laid back experience and better paced delivery to our table.

The pizza was good and had great flavors. I’d encourage others to give the place a try, but not sure when we’ll come back again.

Also, a note to management/ please get rid of the stained bench in your foyer. We took one look at that and almost walked back out.

I had high hopes for this place. It’s hard to find a good pizza place. The baked ziti and meatballs were dry. The pizza crust was hard to cut. The vegan cheese was good,, just not enough. Service was okay, but they were understaffed, so it took longer than expected,. Parking was easy. The vibe of the place was good.

My wife had the eggplant parm, which was pretty thin with almost no breading and very little cheese. The sauce was tasty and pasta was cooked perfectly. Overall, I’d give it only an average rating. I had a pizza with traditional red sauce, mushrooms and sopprassata on a charcoal crust. It was excellent.

I’m definitely a sucker for Neapolitan style pizza. Basil and Barley is one of my favorites in town. One of the things I really like about this place is the menu isn’t traditional. Even their version of pepperoni is different, but in a good way. Instead of the same old toppings you get at most pizza places, here you get to experience new flavors. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is great! I highly recommend you give them a try, you’ll be glad you did.

I come to this place often, i enjoy the pizza! But i wanted to leave a review so others can know, the kids butterd noodles we received had about 10 noodles on it and some were crunchy? Was not impressed since it was $5 and a whole box is cheaper. Anyways the main reason for leaving the comment is because by mistake our friend dinning with us didnt leave a tip ( he thought he did ) so our server comes up to the table and said ” just wanted to let you know you didnt tip ” all of us were a little put off by that, we understand the tab was larger and that is how servers make money but she put the check in front of him with a pen? To maybe see/ ask for a credit tip? We all thought was kinda rude, but he gave her cash instead. Overall just a little off putting. Overall though, we will still come back the food is great!

Basil & Barley Pizzeria is easily one of the standout spots in Colorado Springs. We went here for a wine tasting event the other night. The food is exceptional, especially their charcoal-crust pizza—flavorful, and completely unique.

The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and genuinely comfortable. It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel welcomed by the lovely family that operates it. If you’re looking for delicious Napoletana style pizza in a genuinely inviting setting, Basil and Barley is a must-try.

We’ve been here several times and been amazed each time. Recently went to a well reviewed, historic pizzeria in Boston but not even they could compete with Basil & Barley. Each pizza we’ve tried here has been great. Can’t even pick a favorite because we love them all. The charcoal crust is special…you have to love it because of the beautiful color. I don’t want this place to get so busy that the wait times increase, but I can’t help leaving a glowing review.
