Cute decor.
We also met an interesting group of locals. They gave us all the tid bits of the town. I found all the information fascinating.
Cappuccino was quite good!
There is overpriced local art for sale on the walls, even if it isn’t selling, it certainly adds to a pleasant atmosphere and fits their vibe. The service was pleasant.
You can add CBD in your coffee for an extra few bucks. Not my cup of tea, but hey, it is all legal now.
UPDATE: We emailed the owner a month ago and never received a response. Since then, we’ve started ordering our coffee through Beanz and have been very happy with the service.
The latte is one of the best that I have ever had. It had great flavor. Also, I asked for it extra hot and they made it to my request. That doesn’t often happen.
The danish was good, it was not the best but it paired well with the latte. I did try a piece of the chocolate chip scone and I wasn’t a fan.
Aside from that this shop has a section where you can buy coffee beans and another section where they sell homemade soaps. It looked like they had a good selection of beans.
Another plus about this location is the accessibility. I am severely limited with my mobility and I need a walker to get around. There was plenty of room in the shop and I was able to easily navigate the bathroom. My only complaint is that there were pretty high thresholds in the doorways and it was difficult to get my walker over.
Finally the shop has plenty of seating.
The nice young lady I grilled about our caffeinated liquid desire was extremely knowledgeable and answered every single question acceptably And she’s only been in the industry for a year so I don’t know if I should thank the owner or Google for her education, but she knew all the answers
All right, now I’m gonna get a little wordy.
Wonderful little shop on a wonderful little street.
Sitting across the way drinking my latte and just watching the rain come down I could have easily felt like I was in an exotic location overseas
If it wasn’t for the giant Street, the double sidewalks and the cornucopia of colored cars I could’ve felt like I was in Baden Württemberg.
The wonderful aroma of fresh ground coffee will begin to draw you in before you even open the door
When you do open the door the aroma enwraps you like a hug from a loved one you haven’t seen in a while
No matter what you get here you’ll be satisfied
And if you’re not satisfied, when you exit the door turn left and it’s a very short walk over the next cliff.
The last thing I wanna say is, I sat here drinking my coffee and a latte so it took me a moment before I realized there was this very interesting gap between the two buildings where the base camp is located and their next-door neighbor.
They appear to be connected at the first floor level by an enclosed walk bridge. I didn’t feel this on the floor plan when I was inside and my curiosity to know what it is, where it goes and what I’ll find if I go across it was overwhelming but then I was distracted… a gate. I suddenly became aware of a gate.
There is a gate that closes off the access between the buildings
And I suddenly had the desire to go and explore to see where it lead
Maybe next time
Maybe next time I’ll find something amazing down that path.
You need coffee from Base Camp.
As a barista champion I cannot recommend this place enough. Perfectly crafted drinks, wonderful customer service, and a spotless clean store.
Thank you to the ladies at the front. You were both so kind and took care of all our orders, and even offered us tips on the best hikes in the area and answered all our questions and I really enjoyed our conversation, made a great cup of coffee even that much better.
If I ever come back through the town, this will be the first place on my list!
P.s. the humourous labels for “floor” and “countertop” deserve a mention
