Take the backroads
Where to start? Great mocha latte to start the morning. Hubby loved the scone.

Cute decor.

We also met an interesting group of locals. They gave us all the tid bits of the town. I found all the information fascinating.

Great neighborhood location and the interior has the look, feel and aroma of everything a coffee shop should be. I ordered a 16oz cold brew with no ice and I am pleased that they served the full 16oz. Way too many coffee shops only give you 12 or 13 oz of coffee in a 16oz cold brew with no nice. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. The coffee itself was excellent!! I’ll be back for sure.

Good place to get a decent coffee.
Cappuccino was quite good!
There is overpriced local art for sale on the walls, even if it isn’t selling, it certainly adds to a pleasant atmosphere and fits their vibe. The service was pleasant.
You can add CBD in your coffee for an extra few bucks. Not my cup of tea, but hey, it is all legal now.

We have visited three times in two weeks and usually love this place, but during our most recent visit, one employee was incredibly rude. While checking beans for something within a week of roasting, we were told to “stop looking” because we were “disrupting their order and ruining the experience for the next person”- even though we were carefully putting every bag back exactly where we found them. On two other visits, different employees were friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which made this experience even more disappointing. We hope all staff are encouraged to treat customers with the same courtesy.

UPDATE: We emailed the owner a month ago and never received a response. Since then, we’ve started ordering our coffee through Beanz and have been very happy with the service.

One of the best coffee shops period. They roast their own beans. Make their own syrups. Have really yummy baked goods. And the staff in atmosphere is awesome. If you love local coffee shops, you gotta check this place out.

We stopped here on our way to Dayton and I’m glad we did. I ordered a vanilla latte and my husband ordered a hazelnut latte. I also bought a cheese danish and he got a chocolate chip scone.

The latte is one of the best that I have ever had. It had great flavor. Also, I asked for it extra hot and they made it to my request. That doesn’t often happen.

The danish was good, it was not the best but it paired well with the latte. I did try a piece of the chocolate chip scone and I wasn’t a fan.

Aside from that this shop has a section where you can buy coffee beans and another section where they sell homemade soaps. It looked like they had a good selection of beans.

Another plus about this location is the accessibility. I am severely limited with my mobility and I need a walker to get around. There was plenty of room in the shop and I was able to easily navigate the bathroom. My only complaint is that there were pretty high thresholds in the doorways and it was difficult to get my walker over.

Finally the shop has plenty of seating.

I ordered 2 hot drinks. They are amazing. Smooth, chocolate, roasty flavors. Perfect for the cold winter day.

First before I get too wordy I just wanna highlight: they roast their own beans somewhere else in town, but they do roast their own beans. they make their own syrups in house. They use real Ghirardelli chocolate and they melt it down to make their chocolate syrup. And a few of their other syrups looked equally delicious.
The nice young lady I grilled about our caffeinated liquid desire was extremely knowledgeable and answered every single question acceptably And she’s only been in the industry for a year so I don’t know if I should thank the owner or Google for her education, but she knew all the answers
All right, now I’m gonna get a little wordy.
Wonderful little shop on a wonderful little street.
Sitting across the way drinking my latte and just watching the rain come down I could have easily felt like I was in an exotic location overseas
If it wasn’t for the giant Street, the double sidewalks and the cornucopia of colored cars I could’ve felt like I was in Baden Württemberg.
The wonderful aroma of fresh ground coffee will begin to draw you in before you even open the door
When you do open the door the aroma enwraps you like a hug from a loved one you haven’t seen in a while
No matter what you get here you’ll be satisfied
And if you’re not satisfied, when you exit the door turn left and it’s a very short walk over the next cliff.
The last thing I wanna say is, I sat here drinking my coffee and a latte so it took me a moment before I realized there was this very interesting gap between the two buildings where the base camp is located and their next-door neighbor.
They appear to be connected at the first floor level by an enclosed walk bridge. I didn’t feel this on the floor plan when I was inside and my curiosity to know what it is, where it goes and what I’ll find if I go across it was overwhelming but then I was distracted… a gate. I suddenly became aware of a gate.
There is a gate that closes off the access between the buildings
And I suddenly had the desire to go and explore to see where it lead
Maybe next time
Maybe next time I’ll find something amazing down that path.
You need coffee from Base Camp.

Unforgettable.

As a barista champion I cannot recommend this place enough. Perfectly crafted drinks, wonderful customer service, and a spotless clean store.

Thank you to the ladies at the front. You were both so kind and took care of all our orders, and even offered us tips on the best hikes in the area and answered all our questions and I really enjoyed our conversation, made a great cup of coffee even that much better.

If I ever come back through the town, this will be the first place on my list!

P.s. the humourous labels for “floor” and “countertop” deserve a mention

We stopped by here on our way back from picking up our kids from summer camp. You immediately feel welcomed by the atmosphere and the staff. This coffee shop serves Basecamp coffee which if you haven’t had, you haven’t lived. Then they take that coffee that’s already good and turn it into craft drinks. This is a must have off the beaten path visit. Bring your family and check out the reading/kids corner or relax out side with a cup of joe. Overall loves the experience and the good coffee. We will be back next year!
