We watched the Rams vs. Seahawks and headed out late to grab some food. The original plan was sushi, but we couldn’t find the hidden restaurant and honestly, ending up at Barrio Social felt like a happy accident.

Like all our meals, we went family-style. Tapas to start, of course. The jamón ibérico con tomaquet was a smoky, delicious way to kick things off while we figured out the rest of the order. With help from the super friendly manager, Chris, we planned out our spread: tortilla española, gambas al ajillo, croquetas, mussels and the octopus….all fantastic. The croquetas were different from what I would have expected…heavy and the one thing I wouldn’t order again. The mussels had a ton of flavor, the octopus was delicious-along with the two different preparations of potatoes on the side- tortilla espanola a must! The scallops crudo and bluefin tuna tiradito were also big hits at the table.

We finished with a seafood paella so everyone could get a taste, and it was the perfect way to end the meal. Total win of a stop — and a hit with everyone.

From the staff, to the owner, to the bartenders, to the food to the quality of everything- completely great and so enjoyable. My fiancé and I have been here for 4 days and have come 3 out for 4 times bc it’s such a great place. Atmosphere, food, environment, vibes- you got it all. Definitely take the time to check it out and ask for Gavin to make you a badass espresso martini or whatever drink you’d like.

Horror I can only say absolutely horrible food.

Undercooked lobster with shell all over the top. I passed it around the table and we all photographed the fact it was undercooked andcovered in small pieces of the shell….those who ate it threw up all night.

Octopus with no flavor or char nor plating or desire. Sooo over rated if they knew how to prepare it would be a different story. We had it the night before cooked some what better. I am disappointed in this.

Beat salad- 4 of us had it and each almost threw up. It was watery rancid old gross. Pure torture to swallow. We love blue cheese pears beats and walnuts you will it’s actually just beats out of a can sliced and then throw on the plate water down red onions it takes two bad I was I’ll.

I needed a tums after.

Best espresso martini: if you’ve never had one before… not even fresh espresso.

They did make a good Bourbon on the rocks. Thought they have a very very very very small amount of options.

I will never go again with my friends of family I feel guilty u forced the birthday boy in our group to go he didn’t even get so much as a free dessert for his birthday.

Not invoking my server who worked hard and was amazing besides the fact the food was HORRIBLE. 2/10 do not go.

We had a great experience. The sirloin steak dish was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious, and the seafood stew was outstanding as well. We finished with tiramisu which was great! The service was excellent—everyone was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. The atmosphere was warm and enjoyable, making it a place we’d happily return to.

Barrio Social is an absolute must-visit. Hands down the best espresso martini in town — perfectly balanced, smooth, and dangerously good.

The vibe is on point, but what really makes the place special is the service. Huge shoutout to Gavin, aka the Gav Meister — incredible bartender, super welcoming, and clearly knows his craft. You can tell he takes pride in what he serves, and it shows in every drink.

If you’re anywhere near Vial Village and want a top-tier cocktail (especially an espresso martini), Barrio Social should be at the top of your list. We’ll definitely be back. ☕️

Very cute ski town, and the atmosphere is amazing. The mussels are tasty, but the fried calamari is just okay

We live in Vail for a few months each year and have eaten at pretty much every restaurant. We didn’t feel this was a very good value relative to the price. Vs other options nearby. Here’s some Details.

If you sit on the patio, it is essential that you be on the left side. The bus stop is right in front of the right side of the patio. The electric buses are pretty quiet, but the diesel ones are very noisy —really kills the atmosphere.

Bread – Good quality, excellent butter. Four dollars. A deal.

Gazpacho. Pretty tasty. Great deal at $10

Avocado soup. Very nice. Had A reasonable amount of crab sprinkled on top. Around $15 in a good value.

Octopus. Not that great. A little stringy. Cut into small pieces, not served as an entire tentacle. Dry. But most oddly , It came with mashed potatoes and potato slices. Since the octopus was dry, there wasn’t any sort of a liquid element or sauce that would’ve really helped out. Disappointing. Poorly thought out and poor execution.

Watermelon salad. Probably the highlight of the meal – really well seasoned. Had some nice mini Barada cheeses to go with it. Smart design!

Cheese plate. Two of the four cheeses were manchego variants, one with a strong truffle flavor and one with a wine flavor. We didn’t enjoy them. The Pure manchego was excellent. The fourth cheese was OK. Olives were good. Overall, disappointing for the price.

Potatoes – ok but not great; expensive.

Wine – $17 for a small glass of OK wine is just really typical in Vail.

It’s a nice location and the service was OK. We won’t be back. There’s better options.

Gavin was such an exceptional help on choosing what drinks for this winter season. Stopped by on the way to Aspen to get a drink and Barrio Social didn’t fail us. Will definitely be stopping by for dinner again.

I went with a large group and it also happened to be Valentines Day! To say that it was busy is an understatement. Despite this, our server and the rest of the staff kept pace and knocked it out of the park. Also, as a large group, we decided to order a bunch of tapas and just share around the table. I think I got to taste over half of the items on the menu and every bite was a delight. I topped off dinner with the creme brulee and a nice glass of bourbon and went to my happy place. Can’t wait to go back next time I’m in Vail!
