Barrio Cocina Mexican was overall just okay. The trio appetizer was solid — definitely one of the highlights. Unfortunately, the esquite came out cold, which was disappointing. The burrito was big (fat in size!) but flat in flavor. The chorizo — traditionally red and spicy — lacked seasoning and honestly resembled thin ground beef more than authentic chorizo.
The tacos sounded great but also came out cold and barely seasoned- it felt like they may have been pre-made and sitting on standby.
Atmosphere-wise, the space itself was nice, and service was impeccable — truly the standout. The music was a little too loud at times- especially when it switched to EDM.
I really wanted to like this place. The service was excellent, but the food lacked the authentic flavors and cohesive experience I was hoping for.

We tried the veggie quesadilla, enchiladas, salsa, and chips. The salsa and quesadillas are a must-try. Great portion sizes and pricing. The enchiladas could’ve used a little more seasoning, but overall they were decent. Cozy atmosphere and a great spot for a casual date night

WOW! This place is 12/10 hands down
We waited about 45 months for a table and it was 100% worth it!
I ordered the shrimp fajitas husband for the chicken wet burrito, also had the trio for an app.
Our server Kenzie gave every recommendation and it great! She was awesome

11/07/25: Great place. I got a 3 taco dish(you can choose which ones you want) and a chicken fajita entree, which came with the meat + cheese on a hotplate and the vegetables on another. I remember everything being pretty good, I just wish I had some kind of sauce or salsa.. or that made the tacos and fajitas a little more wet, but I wanted a non-altered food experience I guess. I would rate the food 4.5 due to that.
The waitress was good; courteous and checked on me sparingly. I really like the ambiance of the place and the design choices. Would not mind returning here for a meal if I’m in the mood for mexican =03.

Stopped by for a snack on the way to my wifes mani/pedi a few doors down. From the get go the place looked great. Not only that, but we had the nachos (lunch size) to snack on and it was amazing. Drinks were also prepared to perfection and we already talked about coming back her to Plymouth and stopping here for a date night soon.

Great service and food, in a cute area of Plymouth. I arrived with a group of six people at 6:15pm on Wednesday, October 29, and there was unfortunately a bit of a wait, as the restaurant does not take reservations. The hosts were very accommodating and professional, keeping us updated on wait times. The chicken quesadilla was delicious and a generous portion size. Our server was also very attentive and friendly.

Had a good time visiting Barrio. Food is good, drinks as well. Not many options, though pretty selective. Ambience is great and spacious. Service is good. Recommended

The food and service are great. Christian was our waiter, and he was excellent. He was quick and checked in often. The food is a little expensive, but it is large portions and very good. I highly recommend getting an appetizer with chips because the chips are one of the best I’ve had. It gets very busy at lunch time, but we arrived when they opened at 11:00 to get a table for 7. My only issue was that the hostess kept trying to put us at a table that was clearly not going to fit 7 adults.

Had the Carne tacos tonight and the street corn in a bowl. Some of the best tacos I’ve had. The service was amazing. If you’re looking for a great outdoor restaurant be sure to check this place out.
