Stopped into the Barrel House after a long day at work. It was my first time there, and i was hungry and thirsty after a long day on the road. I was parched, and my server Hannah was quick & inventive on bringing me a cold Mexican lager. My buddy & I first ordered some appetizers. “Hanger” had already set in before we arrived…which Hannah was skillful trained to notice the symptoms. She quickly brought out the plate of nachos, which was delicious and was “Michelin star” quality. We ordered our dinner, which Hannah & staff soon brought out the cornucopia of food, that was rival in excess to the first Thanksgiving with the pilgrims. In the end, my buddy and I left full, and satisfied at the food & service by Hannah & staff!

We waited at the door for 5-10 minutes before being acknowledged as numerous employees walked by. There were two groups of people ahead of us that were also waiting. We were finally seated near the windows. No fault to anyone, but the sun was so blinding that we asked to move to a different table, which we was no problem. Suggestion to the restaurant would be to get some blinds as we noticed another table also moved away from the windows. We ordered our food which came out quickly. Everyone at our table enjoyed the food and thought the French fries were great. We got our check and noticed they charged a 3% fee to use a credit card and then taxed us for the 3% fee, so we decided to just use cash. We got our change back and noticed they still charged us the credit card fee even though we paid in cash, so we had to bring that to their attention. The waitress quickly took care of it. Overall, food was good, service was good (with the exception of when we were waiting to be seated). As it is a new restaurant, we will give them some time to work out the kinks, but we will be back.

Unfortunately we just had bad luck at this restaurant on a Friday evening. This restaurant has so much potential but the wait staff doesn’t have the support they need from the kitchen staff. After waiting for an hour, the food was brought to our table ice cold and overcooked. Manager was understanding and took care of our food, but we left. Entrees we’re priced too high for that level of quality. I hope it improves with time and proper training.

We went on Saturday to try this out. We walked in and weren’t acknowledged. Finally we were seated in the bright sun (no curtains, people were wearing their sunglasses inside) Took several minutes for a server to come.

The restaurant was not very busy and we sat outside. It took quite a while for anyone to come to our table. When they brought our beers out, they didn’t know which one was which and we had to figure that out ourselves. When we ordered food, the server almost left our table without getting everyone’s order. It then took almost an hour for our meals to come out. Two meals were the same, and the portions were different. A third meal was soggy like it had been sitting for a long time and the fourth was a wrap that was put together sloppily. Our server hardly ever checked on our table unless we waved them down. We were extremely disappointed and will not be going back.

We tried to go in the middle of the week spontaneously because our other dinner plans had fallen through. There was less than 5 tables seated and we stood at the door for about 2 minutes and nobody acknowledged us so we just left. We got some eye contact, but no actual acknowledgement or wait time and, again, there were barely any tables. Maybe it’s a fluke?

Ordered takeout, won’t be going back. My reuben sandwich was cut in think slices (1/4″ thick) and it made it to tough to eat. Wife’s burger was OK at best, her side included about ten fries total.
