What really makes this place is the service. Our server was so friendly and welcoming. They are clearly creating an environment meant for the whole family. They are truly catering to the community. They have good happy hour specials and we were told kids (I think under 12) eat free on Sundays, and I can say we will definitely go back with the small human.
Like I said, the menu is a little all over the place. It’s definitely meant for comfort, but it was kind of hard to tell what direction it was meant to be. We got cocktails and they were great. Definitely had a southern, down home kind of vibe. We started with the nachos and soup of the day which was New England clam chowder.
Both apps were great. The soup was really hearty. It’s not always my favorite because when not done well, I really don’t like it, but their New England clam chowder was truly exceptional. Nachos were loaded up and really good.
For mains we got the BBQ duo of chicken breast and ribs. The chicken really was just chicken breast with bbq sauce on it, so nothing special but at least cooked well. The ribs were tender. We also got rigatoni rustico, which sounded more interesting than it was (it had a creamy Dijon sauce, which is what prompted us to order it, but the Dijon was hard to taste). That being said, it was still very nice.
Overall, the menu was a little all over the place. It might be better if they picked a direction (definitely seemed geared more southern) and focused on whittling down the menu. If I could give half stars, I would give them a 4.5, but I’m rounding up to a 5 for exceptional service and a great vibe for the entire family. They’re really aiming to serve their community and I love that. To be clear, this is not a super intimate, date night spot (if that’s what you’re looking for). But the price point is great and the food is solid. The staff is excellent.
The Crispy Chicken Sandwich hit all the right notes — juicy breast, crispy coating, honey mustard that actually had flavor, and the bacon/swiss combo sealed the deal. Fries were solid, nothing special but cooked well.
The Shotgun Shrimp Flatbread was a fun surprise — spicy, cheesy, and loaded with shrimp tossed in that sriracha aioli. A little messy, but worth it.
Service was friendly and the food came out hot. Not a five-star, but definitely a spot I’d come back to for wings and a sandwich.
I especially enjoy the new stuffed chicken entree. The restaurant had a prix fixe for Valentine’s Day ($45) that was well worth it: burrata salad, lobster ravioli, and red velvet cheesecake. I had a lobster tail add on that was delicious, and the ravioli seemed to be made with fresh lobster.
Mondays still offer a charity/fundraising menu of simple entrees at a greatly reduced price.
Service is always attentive and friendly.
First, I want to share the ambience of the restaurant is great! Beautiful new barn style doors by the bar. The team got together and did renovations I heard, which is really sweet how the team came together to make it happen!
Next, please understand this is no longer Sedona Taphouse. Sedona is its own franchise. From what I understand, the owners looked to own a restaurant on their own to give them more opportunity to run it how they wish and giving them more creative freedom. Don’t quote me, but they would not be allowed to “steal” menu items from the previous Sedona but rather will have their own flare. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
The food was great!
We started with a pear salad (not pictured because I had to eat before my phone did ) , for my entree got the salmon with chimichurri sauce, and a side of mashed sweet potato (OMG what a treat!)
For dessert, we tried the coconut sundae and a brownie sundae – terrific way to finish the meal!
I’m excited to see this business flourish! Definitely recommend!
P.S.- My suggestion would be, this is specifically for those who’s expectations aren’t set, if you have criticisms please go to the owners personally. Your negative review can really impact a business when, very likely your concern could easily be rectified more personally. I personally have had a great experience. ☺️
The staff is attentive, the beer is cold, and the food is delicious. The Smokehouse Burger came out a perfect medium, and the fries were warm and crispy.
Will be returning to try out the rest of the menu and a cocktail or two.
Highly pleasurable experience overall.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
