Their food isn’t terrible, but isn’t great either. We tried their wings and several different flavors of their wing sauce, which we enjoyed. The wings themselves were nice sized, but also a little dry. Their thin crust pizza had a decent amount of toppings, but the pizza sauce lacked flavor. Their covered, outside dining deck was nice, but even the slightest breeze would blow our paper plates and napkins off of our table. We all thought a Jimmy Buffet theme would work much better here than the “Jamaican vibe” they are trying to project. Not only that, but the guy walking around the dining room in his bare feet and shirt unbuttoned would fit right in.

We fish on Hamlin Lake frequently, and we usually go to Barnhart’s a few times during our fishing trip. The four of us went yesterday and the day before. We had wings, nachos and sandwiches, along with a few cocktails. We have always received great service, and the view of the lake is beautiful. Prices are very reasonable. We will be back!

We should have left before we ordered. The waitress had to ask in the back if they had perch and shrimp for the po boy sandwich, something she should have done before seating anyone. We were there at 6pm on a chilly Thursday and the place was not busy. Service was friendly (hence 2 stars) but overzealous, nearly taking my husband’s beer before he was finished. The perch was extremely mediocre for the $20 price point. Four small pieces of perch and a handful of fries with a shot glass of cole slaw. The blackened mahi tacos were likely not mahi and definitely not blackened but stuffed with lettuce and fillers. We had to ask for tartar sauce twice because the tiny tubs were half full. The rice was not cooked well and not done at all in some cases. They brought us paper plates for some reason. I brought them home since they were just going to be thrown away needlessly. They don’t provide real silverware or dinnerware or glasses. Plastic utensils and plastic cups are used – such a disgusting waste of single use plastics. For a $100 meal, I’d at least like a real fork. The owner appeared to be present but was too busy glad-handing local friends to check the quality of what his restaurant is selling. This is a waste of a good location right on the lake. Owner needs to step up and should be embarrassed.

The location of the place is very nice. The food was very good. The service could be better maybe slightly friendlier welcome. The atmosphere can be a lot better by maybe having some music a bit of decoration. But over all will eat there again

Where do I even begin. Sat at the bar and was immediately served a dirty glass with lipstick still on the rim. I politely asked the bartender for a new glass and watched her poor my wine into a plastic cup, take a paper towel and wipe the lipstick off and tried to give me back the same glass. I should’ve left then. Also should’ve taken a walk around before eating. The window where the food comes out? Absolutely disgusting. Dirty dish bus tub overflowing with dirty dishes laying next to a trash can also overflowing. Directly next to the men’s bathroom. FLIES flying all over the kitchen and fruit flies in your face while sitting at the bar. We ordered the Jerk Nachos which consisted of a pile of stale tortilla chips with the smallest amount of toppings ever and “World Famous Pizza” nothing famous about it. Overcooked & dry, barely any sauce. Looked like our green peppers were forgotten and thrown on when they cut it. Pizza was almost burnt but peppers were cold?? We were given a Great Value container of Parmesan cheese that had dried pizza sauce stuck to it from a previous table. Service was extremely slow. Bill was over $50 and will not be back.

We always order an appetizer if we’re really hungry ( and a cold beer).
I enjoy the atmosphere, wait staff, Chef staff.
The owner Derek is very friendly and cares about everyone that comes in there.
