We had an awesome time at Barn Door Public House! First off, ample parking made getting in and out super easy, which is always a win. The outdoor patio is beautiful, with cozy seating and a fire pit that adds such a great vibe — perfect for hanging out in the evening.

They’ve got a great selection of beers on tap, and I really appreciated that they also offer Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a white wine option for the wine drinkers in our group. I struggled a bit at first with the self-pour beer system, but the staff was super friendly and one of them even walked me through how to use the beer sample card properly to avoid over-foaming and wasting the beer — much appreciated!

We were there with our kids and were happy to find a stash of board games, which kept them entertained while we relaxed. As for the food — the charcuterie board was top-notch, and the buffalo chicken flatbread and chips with guac hit the spot. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented.

This place strikes a perfect balance between chill and classy. Definitely coming back!

Good food and service. We are not from the area and got lost at night looking for the restaurant. If there’s signage, we missed it. Also, we happened to come on a rainy night. It was cold and it would’ve been nice to have a space heater in the dining area. I imagine on a warmer night the ambiance would be nice, especially the patio area.

Barn Door Public House is such a cute addition to this part of Escondido, especially since there aren’t a ton of dining options in the area. The patio is great, with plenty of seating, comfy chairs, a fire pit, and several picnic tables. It has that cool setup where they give you a card and you pour your own beer or kombucha on tap, which makes it feel relaxed and social. The food is good and it has that food-truck vibe since they cook in a little outdoor kitchen, but it always smells amazing. They have a good happy hour too. I’ve been 3 times and will be back.

Brought the dog for a quick Friday night bite and drink. I’m still try to figure it how they cAn put out better food with the small kitchen/but they have compared to full blown restaurants. The cobbish salad I had was dynamite and they actually give you enough dressing to cover your salad. What a concept . The pesto flatbread was aloe quite delish. Soft bread…tasty toppings. Service super attentive. Brought the pup some water. Different types of furniture and styles to sit on and a nice fire pit. One table was a little wobbly and I would be scared to sit at it. That might be time to go! Plenty of beer to choose from. Nice to see so many people come and chill there. Prices are fairly decent and portions are good.

I can’t rave enough about my recent experience at this tap house—it’s a true gem in the world of craft beer and innovative dining!

First and foremost, let’s talk about the beer selection. If you’re a fan of IPAs, Hazys, sours, seltzers, or kombuchas, you’ve just hit the jackpot. The tap list here is a dream come true for any craft beer enthusiast. They’ve got something for everyone, whether you’re into the hoppy bitterness of IPAs or the tart complexity of sours. The variety alone is worth five stars!

Now, onto the real game-changer: their tap card system. It’s pure genius. The ability to pay as you pour with a tap card eliminates the hassle of constantly flagging down a server. You’re in control of your beer destiny, and it’s a liberating feeling. Plus, it keeps your glass filled and your taste buds dancing.

And let’s not forget about the food. The homemade pizzas are an absolute triumph. With a hand-fired pizza pie and custom-made dough, each slice is a taste of perfection. But it doesn’t stop there. The tater tot nachos are a rare-gem that I seldom see in tap rooms. Loaded with pulled pork, canned jalapeños (which fill me with nostalgia every time), and Petco Park-style nacho cheese, they’re a flavor explosion you won’t soon forget. It’s comfort food at its finest.

The combination of outstanding beer, innovative technology, and mouthwatering food creates an unforgettable experience. I can’t wait to come back for more. If you’re looking for a top-tier tap house with a twist, this place is a must-visit. Five stars all the way!

It seems that the main attraction here is the self-serve beer taps. We just came for the food. We had the pulled pork sliders and the melalicious flatbread. We’re very pleased with the food, service, and ambiance.

Only had the chips and guacamole and a drink but the other food also looked great. Amazing indoor / outdoor atmosphere comfortable for hanging solo and reading with a drink, or smaller groups with various types of seating like couches to benches, etc. Friendly staff and service. All around great place to hang.
