Bark BBQ Brooklyn $162, brisket, beef rib, pork ribs, rib tips … – Reddit
Reviews
This place is located in Time Out, where there are plenty of food options, on the 5th floor. I wanted to try some other spots but I was so full after this meal!!!
We ordered the Carnitas with tostones ($14.84), but it only came with two very oily tostones. The brisket was $21.06 for just three slices, and the cornbread ($8.00) felt like it should have been included given the total bill. On a positive note, the smoked half chicken ($16.00) was enjoyable. However, after spending $89 total, I didn’t feel the food lived up to the hype or the price tag.
• I had the baked mac & cheese with rib tips (so flavorful and filling).
• My dad had mac & cheese with beef, ribs, plus yellow rice and beans—a perfect combo of hearty and smoky.
The atmosphere made the meal even better. There’s a rooftop seating area where you can admire the view while enjoying your food. I loved being able to sit outside and take in the scenery—it gave the whole experience a laid-back, New York summer vibe.
Definitely a spot I’d come back to for both the food and the rooftop views! ✨
The beef rib is perfectly fall off the bone tender with a great smoky flavour. The chicharron is nice and crunchy with juicy meat, longaniza sausage is a similarly solid pick – both go great with their house sauces. The smoked mac and cheese was also pretty unreal, super cheesy and stringy, not dry at all.
the best thing on offer though was probably the tres golpes sandwich – a soft brioche bun stuffed with a mountain of pulled pork, a slice of fried cheese (a firm dominican cheese, like halloumi), a couple slices of fried plantain and a creamy green sauce. just works so well together.
a bit on the pricier side but worth every penny, great location as well with amazing views of DUMBO from the outdoor terraced area
We looked at all the many wonderful food stalls options on the ground floor before taking the lift up to check out the open air seating area on the 5th floor rooftop, as I had downloaded the App that allowed me to look at all the food options from the stalls, order anything I wanted, pay for it online and have it delivered to our table on the rooftop.
When we got to the 5th floor we discovered there was a smaller foodhall with 5 food stalls and a bar. The Bark Barbeque stall immediately caught our attention as it was the only one with a queue and we love BBQ food.
So I queued up for 15 minutes and ordered some fantastic Dominican BBQ food (beef brisket, pulled pork sandwich, smoked conitas & cornbread with honey butter), which we enjoyed with a couple of great IPA beers that my wife had purchased from the bar, sitting at a bench table with fantastic views of the Manhattan Bridge & Manhatten skyline.
We really enjoyed all the food The beef brisket was so flavourful, moist and tender, we could cut it with our folks. We also enjoyed the cornbread with honey butter, however, the star of the show for me was the smoked conitas served on tostones (fried green plantain slices) with onions & Bark green sauce. I’ve never had this before and I was delighted with the incredible combination of flavours with the crunchy tostones. Smoked conitas (Mexican pulled pork) is pork shoulder cooked low and slow on the smoker and then finished in a citrusy braise until it transforms into melt-in-your-mouth shredded meat.
Our deliciously, refreshingly light, fruity IPA beer was the perfect accompliment for our BBQ food
