We went right as it opened so the line wasn’t too long. This was my first time trying Dominican food. The beef chicharron sandwich was good, very flavorful and salty. The barbecue sauces are delicious and also very salty. The maduros stole the show– perfectly crispy and sweet. Ambiance at the Time Out Market was good, although the bathrooms left something to be desired (no toilet paper, sink didn’t have running water, etc.)

The beef ribs are so good!!!! huge portions with tons of meat and incredible flavor. The mac and cheese is a solid 10/10. The queso Fritos (I think that’s what they’re called) were delicious perfect balance of sweet and salty.
This place is located in Time Out, where there are plenty of food options, on the 5th floor. I wanted to try some other spots but I was so full after this meal!!!

On Saturday we arrived at this establishment for the second time and the line to get this delicious food was so long it was a testament to the quality of service you receive at this fast-food shop but will quickly see its definitely with a true home cooking feel at Bark Barbecue. Beyond its great tasting food is the staff that are fun lively and welcoming, it just feels like a piece of home. Now I was first introduced to this place by my 14-year-old daughter who found it on Instagram. This food is very flavorful the first time we visited it here back in like June of last year and just as savory melt in your mouth today 2.28.2026. Let me tell you that the line will be so worth your wait you. It is a little pricey because you are getting pure quality meats, yet that price won’t matter to you once you place that fork down to get a bite. Tell them I sent you lol and you can thank me later.

Absolutely love this place. Havent found a good bbq spot since I left baltimore for nyc. This one really hits the spot. Go for the brisket and get a side of the spiced rice and beans combo. Make sure to try both the spicy bbq and the regular bbq sauce. They gave me a free sample of chicharron but I just felt like its all crunch with too much fat, too little protein, and very little flavor.

Visited for the first time and was unfortunately disappointed. The atmosphere was incredibly loud and crowded, making it hard to enjoy the meal. My main issue was the value for the price; the portions were very small for what they cost.
We ordered the Carnitas with tostones ($14.84), but it only came with two very oily tostones. The brisket was $21.06 for just three slices, and the cornbread ($8.00) felt like it should have been included given the total bill. On a positive note, the smoked half chicken ($16.00) was enjoyable. However, after spending $89 total, I didn’t feel the food lived up to the hype or the price tag.

Had such a great time at this barbecue spot with my dad! We both went straight for the comfort food—
• I had the baked mac & cheese with rib tips (so flavorful and filling).
• My dad had mac & cheese with beef, ribs, plus yellow rice and beans—a perfect combo of hearty and smoky.

The atmosphere made the meal even better. There’s a rooftop seating area where you can admire the view while enjoying your food. I loved being able to sit outside and take in the scenery—it gave the whole experience a laid-back, New York summer vibe.

Definitely a spot I’d come back to for both the food and the rooftop views! ✨

bark barbeque is one of the most popular vendors in timeout market (expect to queue but the queue does move fairly quickly) and for good reason, the food is excellent and definitely some of the best bbq ive ever had.

The beef rib is perfectly fall off the bone tender with a great smoky flavour. The chicharron is nice and crunchy with juicy meat, longaniza sausage is a similarly solid pick – both go great with their house sauces. The smoked mac and cheese was also pretty unreal, super cheesy and stringy, not dry at all.

the best thing on offer though was probably the tres golpes sandwich – a soft brioche bun stuffed with a mountain of pulled pork, a slice of fried cheese (a firm dominican cheese, like halloumi), a couple slices of fried plantain and a creamy green sauce. just works so well together.

a bit on the pricier side but worth every penny, great location as well with amazing views of DUMBO from the outdoor terraced area

I had come here a few months ago and loved. I was in the area and decided to come in to have some again. This time was even more delicious than the last time. It was also very packed as there was a free salsa class going on! I absolutely recommend coming here, you won’t be disappointed. I had small macaroni and cheese, and half a pound of brisket. This place also has an amazing, direct, unobstructed view of the Brooklyn bridge!

Bark Barbecue at Time Out Market Rooftop is an absolute must-visit for anyone who loves authentic, flavorful barbecue. The restaurant is incredibly popular, so be prepared to wait around 30 minutes, but the wait is more than worth it. I tried a variety of dishes including spare ribs, sausage, brisket, pulled pork, chicharrón pork, chicken, and coleslaw. Every single item was outstanding. The spare ribs were tender, juicy, and perfectly smoked, while the sausage had a robust, savory flavor. The brisket melted in my mouth, and the pulled pork was rich and flavorful. Chicharrón pork was crispy and delicious, and the chicken was succulent. The coleslaw was fresh and crunchy, providing the perfect balance to the richness of the meats. Portions were generous, flavors bold, and every bite kept me coming back for more. The rooftop setting adds a lively and enjoyable atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to relax, enjoy the view, and savor the food. Whether you’re a local or visiting Time Out Market for the first time, Bark Barbecue is a must-try destination. Highly recommended!

After walking across the Brooklyn Bridge to the DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) area of Brooklyn we decided to have lunch at the Timeout Market foodhall.
We looked at all the many wonderful food stalls options on the ground floor before taking the lift up to check out the open air seating area on the 5th floor rooftop, as I had downloaded the App that allowed me to look at all the food options from the stalls, order anything I wanted, pay for it online and have it delivered to our table on the rooftop.
When we got to the 5th floor we discovered there was a smaller foodhall with 5 food stalls and a bar. The Bark Barbeque stall immediately caught our attention as it was the only one with a queue and we love BBQ food.
So I queued up for 15 minutes and ordered some fantastic Dominican BBQ food (beef brisket, pulled pork sandwich, smoked conitas & cornbread with honey butter), which we enjoyed with a couple of great IPA beers that my wife had purchased from the bar, sitting at a bench table with fantastic views of the Manhattan Bridge & Manhatten skyline.
We really enjoyed all the food The beef brisket was so flavourful, moist and tender, we could cut it with our folks. We also enjoyed the cornbread with honey butter, however, the star of the show for me was the smoked conitas served on tostones (fried green plantain slices) with onions & Bark green sauce. I’ve never had this before and I was delighted with the incredible combination of flavours with the crunchy tostones. Smoked conitas (Mexican pulled pork) is pork shoulder cooked low and slow on the smoker and then finished in a citrusy braise until it transforms into melt-in-your-mouth shredded meat.
Our deliciously, refreshingly light, fruity IPA beer was the perfect accompliment for our BBQ food
