I called in while my honey was driving up the highway and craving some southern fried okra. and even though the kitchen closed at 8, they took my order in advance and held onto my honey’s meal for well over 20 minutes after closing! And it was still hot the employee over the phone was the sweetest.
Honey said that pork chop was second best, only to his grandma and his grandma throws down! And we are pork chop connoisseurs Lol. The okra was a little greasy according to him and the cabbage needed some TLC (seasoning). But it was the end of the day. I’m sure it was great fresh off the grill.
The ambience got a 3/5 but it’s a restaurant in a gas station, there’s not much ambience expected. It’s a truck stop with truck parking— which we love!
It’s a hole in the wall that will get our business again if we’re ever in town or passing through. Thanks Barefoot’s!

OMG!!! My new favorite place to eat some down home country cooking!! My husband & I decided to try it out last night & it was more than delicious!! The hamburger steak was real hamburger & tasted like it had been grilled. The gravy was good. The fried squash & fried okra was heaven sent & to top it all off with a apple jack!!! Now, my hubby & I both came home hurting we were so full but I can’t find one negative thing to say about it. So glad we gave it a try so now we found one of our new favorite places to eat if not the best place to eat around here!! Oh & the staff was nice & polite also. I highly recommend!!

Only issue your list of daily specials are not listed for each day. Example:MONDAY:/ BBQ chicken , Butter beans, scalloped chest potatoes/ Tuesday:/ fried livers, slaw, slaw or salad. List the specials by what’s on each day on your internet website to make it easier to find!! Thank you

I quit going to Barefoots because the quality of food and service declined. Today I thought I’d try it one more time. I ordered a flounder sandwich with slaw on a bun, fries and an orangeade. I get it home n it was on a bun but no slaw. So I go back. I paid $2.69 extra for slaw on the sandwich because “it comes plain”? The picture is what I received for my fish sandwich for $2.69 AND I had to drive back to get it. I will NOT be back. Shameful. Way overpriced. I paid $16 for that. Be forewarned. Service is also slow.

The grill is located inside a gas station. A hole in the wall place that serves some of the most delicious foods you grew up on eating at Grandma’s house. That is the secret to the high quality of food and service that is received.
I get the four piece fried chicken because whatever seasonings they use to cook the chicken is unique and flavorful tasting. You must order the fried corn on the cob as it is something to write home about ! Prices are reasonable.
