We’ve gone a couple times for happy hour but this was our first time for a full meal. We were completely blown away! All the tapas were so yummy and the paella and branzino were fantastic. Even dessert impressed us! Could not recommend more. Great interior, great music, great service, and delicious food!

We visited Barcelona Wine Bar on a Saturday night and were immediately blown away with the atmosphere and staff. We had a little bit of a wait for our table which was entirely on us as we arrived with more people than our original reservation indicated. Nonetheless, the staff and manager made us feel incredibly comfortable and accommodated, they even gave us some options for seating and complimentary drinks while we waited- truly above and beyond service.

On to the food- it was EXCELLENT. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The portions are generous. We ordered several tapas including the: patatas, calamari, albondigas, hummus, empanadas, steak and mussels. We had so much fun trying all of the tapas and had plenty to pass around for our group. We also ordered the Branzino from the Large Plates section which was outstanding (seriously even folks in our group who do not like fish enjoyed it and were initially drawn in by how delicious it smelled when it arrived).

For drinks we had the Sangrias and Prosecco. All wonderful as well. Overall this is a must try when in Philly. I’ve been to other locations of Barcelona Wine Bar but this is hands down the best. The entire team was so knowledgeable about the menu and had great recommendations for us. Special shoutout to Malcolm, you are truly the best, thank you for such a memorable experience.

Atmosphere: Barcelona Wine Bar is one of my favorite spots for dinner. I’ve been a few times, and it never disappoints. Since the weather was perfect, we sat out on the patio. If you want to catch the sunset, I recommend trying the outdoor seating.

Food: We ordered a handful of tapas to share, and everything together was surprisingly filling. The Eggplant Caponata was super flavorful, the Chicken Thigh was tender and nicely seasoned, and the Shrimp was delicious. We also got a cheese board and became obsessed with one of the semi-soft cheeses, I can’t recall the name of it, but I would recommend a soft-cheese board.

I’ve been here so many times since moving to South Philly. The ambiance is incredible and the food is even better. I recently came for brunch and it was AMAZING. I highly recommend if you’re in the area. Their dinner and happy hour doesn’t disappoint either.

I wish I took more photos but we ate everything too quickly. Tremendous location. Indoor / outdoor seating. Great happy hour or specials. We just shared a couple small plates before going to the phillies game. Had this really good mini espresso martini and my partner had a wine flight. The cheese plate and the watermelon salad were perfect end of summer outdoor vibes. Grilled carrots were on point. All the kids working were awesome totally on top of everything even though it was quite busy. We had a great afternoon here.

The wait was a bit long, but definitely worth it. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated, even with a reservation, but since we were a larger group, it’s understandable. The food was incredible! We went with the tasting menu (cheese board + tapas + big plate), and my favorite tapas were the eggplant and the trout. We also loved the paella. But the real highlight? The desserts……they’re on another level! We tried a few, and here’s my personal ranking: Chocolate cake > Flan > Burnt cheesecake > Olive oil cake. Honestly, all of them were delicioso! And don’t forget to grab a sangria while you’re there. The service was attentive and friendly, and the vibe was fun and energetic.

Yeah. Gotta be a top 10 for me.

This place ROCKS. Winter, summer, spring, fall, Barcelona is a great time for all! I’ve had some of my most memorable meals here. And it’s not even just the food or drinks. It’s the staff that brings it all together. Such a fun place to just enjoy life. The ambiance, the energy, it’s all quite lovely.

Been wanting to try Barcelona Wine Bar for a while, and I’m glad I finally got the chance. It’s got a nice vibe — perfect for a casual dinner with friends or date night.

The tapas selection is great, with plenty of small plates to choose from. There’s also a solid menu for larger plates if you’re in the mood for something more filling.

I had a couple of cocktails— that were good. Plus, the wine list is pretty solid if you’re a fan of good wines.

The bar service was friendly and efficient. It’s one of those places where the staff stays on top of things, so you can just focus on enjoying your company, food and drinks.

Barcelona Wine Bar is a great spot for anyone craving shareable plates and a relaxed atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back!

Overall, a very good experience. There are a multitude of tapas you can start with. We’re big eaters, and we shared three: Spanish tortilla, mushrooms, and fried calamari. After that, We each had a half portion of the paella salvaje (all meats). Portions were extremely generous, and for people who aren’t big eaters one could be shared between two people. I have to say that this paella is a little heavy. The rice was somewhat oily. There was chicken and then a variety of meats that were somewhat non-descript and perhaps a little overdone. I realize it’s hard to rock a paella and get everything done to perfection if it’s all being cooked together. It just didn’t have the appearance and lightness of the paellas I have had in Spain. But boy was the portion generous! We also noted the soccarat (slightly charred rice layer underneath), which was an authentic touch. Amazing wine list. Great service. Will definitely be returning!
