Social Profile:

Barcelona Tapas is a “slow food” style restaurant. These days, due to the slow economy, the restaurant has shrunken to it’s minimal expression. Chef is in the front and his Sous Chef is in the kitchen. Our aim is to produce a memorable dinner. Our focus is flavor, and our food has it’s origins in Spain with a definitive New Orleans accent. It’s a fenomenal fusion of flavors and techniques developed by Chef Xavier Laurentino. Come over to share fantastic tapas and a fenomenal Paella… and don’t forget The Sangria!! We hope to see you soon!

Now this place has a special place in my heart it’s nothing fancy but it can be romantic and cozy. Here is the best part it’s all authentic Spanish tapas. The food is excellent and the service is nice! Nice work chef!

Barcelona Tapas brought a lively, Mediterranean energy to my time in New Orleans. The space felt warm and intimate, with cozy lighting that made it perfect for sharing small plates and lingering over drinks.

The tapas were flavorful and nicely portioned for sharing. The patatas bravas had a crispy bite with a bold, tangy sauce, and the sangria was refreshing without being overly sweet. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared and easy to enjoy.

Overall, it’s a fun, relaxed spot for a casual night out — great for conversation, good food, and a little taste of Spain right in the city.

Very quaint atmosphere. Seating was comfortable although the table chairs are dated and should be updated. The octopus app was amazing. The seafood paella was absolutely worth the 35 minutes it took to be served. My wife loved the sangria, too. All in all, a terrific evening at this Riverbend restaurant.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. service made me feel so at home. Every single dish you could tell was made from scratch and with love. Every single bite was fantastic. I felt like I was at home in my dads kitchen as a young child once again. I love love love this place and will absolutely be returning!!!! The lamb was the best I’ve ever had. The Serrano Ham was fantastic. So pleased I found this place. Get yourself a pitcher of sangria as well!

Amazing! This is an under the radar hidden gem! You won’t find a sign outfront, but you will be so glad once you find it. The atmosphere is down to earth and feels like home. We had the honor of meeting culinary master Chef Zavier. His passion, worldly down-to-earth style, and exceptional care and concern with your meal experience were both touching and delightful.

Every entrée was above and beyond our expectations. The sangria pitcher is a delicious signature drink. We ordered the lamb chops twice! Exquisite! Each plate arrived quickly with perfect presentation and was a gourmet delight. Best meal we had in New Orleans! We’ll treasure the memories here!

What a wonderful restaurant! The owner is from Barcelona and provides absolutely amazing food fresh from the kitchen straight to the table. It is a unique experience as the owner does everything. Do yourself a favor and come before he retires.

I had a wonderful experience at Barcelona Tapas! This is one of my new favorite restaurants in New Orleans and I plan to eat here again, many times.
The chef, Xavier Laurentino, hand-delivered the food to our table and was very friendly, attentive, and professional.
The food was AMAZING. We ordered the chicken, garlic mushrooms, grilled calamari, gouda and manchego, and patatas bravas. The chicken and mushrooms were sizzling when they arrived at our table, and they were stellar. The patatas bravas and calamari were spectacular as well. I want to try the whole menu. You can really taste the attention to detail Xavier puts into each dish.
The sangria was the perfect addition to our perfect meal.
Thank you, Barcelona Tapas, for giving us such a special anniversary dinner!

We absolutely love Barcelona Tapas! Service is amazing and so is the chef, Javier! My favorite is definitely the garlic shrimp and the paella. The dessert was to die for as well! We ordered a ton of tapas for the table and it was honestly a wonderful experience. I have to recommend this place to any foodie in the city!
