Reviews
Pork Butt:
This one is my personal favorite. It provides a flavor profile that isn’t overpowering or too saucy. It is the perfect balance of flavor and the ability to add whatever sauce I want with the smokey element. I can add it to a roll and eat it solo. It does freeze and thaw well without compromising the flavor.
Texas Style Brisket:
This one is my better half’s favorite. We always overshoot when ordering and have leftovers. We have frozen and thawed the brisket out up to three months later, and it was just as perfect when we originally received it. With the thawed brisket, we have made grilled sandwiches or enjoyed it by itself.
Pork Spare Ribs:
I want to add the review if it freezes well, but fortunately, we never made it that far. The ribs never last in our house. Every time we have ordered them, they fall off the bone deliciously.
Smoked Half Chicken:
Talk about versatility! The chicken is my go-to dish for meal prepping within a few days of order. The seasoning is flavorful without the overpowering. Once I remove the chicken from the bones, my favorite is making a chicken salad sandwich. Even with the skin removed, it is still flavorful and smokey. It adds a new element to any shredded chicken dish (tacos, sandwiches, chili, soup, etc.). The best way for us to freeze and thaw the chicken has been to remove and shred the meat first. When it thaws out, it thaws evenly.
Smoked Mac and Cheese:
There isn’t much to add to this portion besides perfection or, as I was told to keep the secret, “Don’t tell my mom it’s better than hers.” I am not a huge mac and cheese fan, but I will make an exception for this dish. I have been caught eating it cold to get a few quick bites before I keep moving with the chores around the house. Whenever we place an order, without second guessing, it is a given for my better half to order it.
