Went with a friend. They take cash or check only. It’s like a school cafeteria atmosphere, in my opinion. The waitress was very friendly, and helpful. The hush puppies are delicious! It’s worth noting this place—to give it a try.

I have been wanting to try this place, but I hardly have cash on me.
This is a cash/check only establishment, so be aware before driving there without cash on hand like I did once!
My food was hot and delicious. Best hush puppies ever, I love the texture. My burger was wonderful, and the fries were the perfect level of crisp! We were the only ones there and did not have an issue with service time, refills, etc. The atmosphere is currently somewhat lacking as it is an up and coming restaurant. Hopefully the business takes off as this is a great alternative option to fast food for burgers!

The fish and his puppies are good. The fries were wilty and not so good. My main complaint is the prices are not competitive for value received.. also the fish platters provide only 2 sides. Other restaurants provide fish, fries, beans and slaw hush puppies all for one prices about 20 percent lower..
Additionally they do not have credit card ability.
I predict their business will slow and suffer if they do not become competitive.

What a great find. Fish was tender, and the hush puppies are the best. The owner took time to visit with us, knowing we travel in our RV full time and post on our YouTube channel. It is a small place, very neat and clean all family members help out. Keep up the great customer service.

We got the fish and shrimp platter it was absolutely amazing!!! This place is about a 30-45 minute ride from us, but it was well worth the trip. We will definitely be back.

This small family eatery where one can dine in or takeout, is a hidden gem in Hohenwald TN with the best food, (especially the fish, hamburger steak etc and Sheila ‘s hushpuppies and home cooked white beans. So for a great meal served by great folks, try Barbers Place, open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 11:00 am/7:pm. The prices are reasonable and the fish is a staple. Y’all come now
