No wonder we’re a favorite of people with active lifestyles, including professional and college athletes, bike racers and other top performers. We are not the biggest quick casual Mexican restaurant company, but we believe our relatively small size allows us to better serve our customers common sense food….because we believe that you deserve to eat well.

Barbacoa is the place to go for friendly and fast service, delicious and fresh meals, affordable prices, and generous portions. The staff have always been friendly and fast at the drive-thru during all the times I have visited. I’ve never had any problems with the food quality and I’ve visited Barbacoa countless of times. The ingredients are always fresh, the flavors are always bold and the protein options have always been cooked to perfection. I personally think the nachos here are 100% a step up from Cafe Rio or any other Mexican grill establishment that I’ve been to in Utah and California. I should also mention that I am a Mexican woman who is picky about my food. I will only ever satisfy my nacho cravings at Barbacoa. Thank you Barbacoa team.

If you’re craving top-tier, quick-serve Mexican food, look no further than Barbacoa! This place delivers on every level—fast and friendly service, a fun and clean atmosphere, and incredible food that offers amazing value.

I had the Steak Burrito, enchilada style, and it was a feast! The steak was cooked to perfection, seasoned beautifully, and packed with flavor. My wife had the chicken tacos, which were just as fantastic. With generous portions, fresh ingredients, and bold flavors, Barbacoa truly stands above the rest.

Simply put, this is the best Mexican grill in Utah. Whether you’re in the mood for a burrito, taco, or quesadilla, Barbacoa is the place to go.

Now, let’s be clear—Barbacoa isn’t just another Mexican grill; it’s a game-changer. The flavors, the portions, the service—it all comes together in a way that sets Barbacoa apart. This isn’t just food; it’s an experience that keeps you coming back.

BARBACOA to me is…Best Authentic Recipes, Bold And Cooked Over Amazing flavors!

Barbacoa is the supreme Mexican Grill, quick serve destination in Utah—don’t just take my word for it, go try it!

I used to go to the West Jordan and Cottonwood Heights locations all the time. I’ve been a loyal customer for at least 20 years. And over that period of time I would regularly fill up their loyalty stamp cards to be redeemed for an entrée of my choice. I had one of those cards ready to be redeemed, and I stopped in at this location ready to use it. It’s disappointing to see they no longer have wheat tortillas for burritos, so that’s a newfound strike against them. But the reason I’m writing this is because of what happened when it was time to check out at the register: I handed the fully stamped loyalty card to the employee, who seemed confused. The employee who prepared my burrito then said “you had extra meat, right?” NO, I did NOT. I think she was looking for a reason to ring *something* through the register to register a sale. I was then told the card would only cover $8.99 of the cost, and I had to pay the difference. NEVER had that occur before – previously they would accept the full card, thank you, and give you another card to use for future visits. That’s “loyalty” for you. As a result I’ve had my last meal with this now-shady restaurant. Shame.

The WORST EXPERIENCE i ordered today 8/9/23 online on their app at 12:20 pm it said the food would be ready today at 12:54 pm

This was for my bosses birthday and he was here from out of town.

I arrived at 1 pm to give them a bit more time ONLY for them to tell me they didn’t realize they had an online order then she started going through papers and found it.

She wasn’t apologetic, she didn’t rush my order she didn’t even offer at least chips or salsa for the inconvenience l.

I waited around for 20 minutes during this time she was still taking other customers orders vs making mine.

The audacity this is the first time I’ve been to this location and the last.

On top of that – my bosses food was a hot mess. It was all over the place needless to say our department birthday party was ruined.

They order was also wrong for many of my coworkers.

$160.00 for worst service, food was wrong super angry. They didn’t even offer at least chips or a drink NOTHING.

Just got food poisoning from this place. Tasted like the beans rice and prok were all boiled in the same pot & the celantro lime dressing is more of a vinegerette. There is a specific gritty texture to water boiled shredded meat.. yuck.

First time visit, service was good and quick through the drive through. Meal size was big, I couldn’t eat this burrito in one sitting. The honey sweet pork was flavorful, but could be a bit more juicy and moist. Overall a good meal.

I ordered the veggie burrito. Hardly any veggies. Just $9 for a few scoops of poorly cooked rice and a mere sprinkle of black beans 🙁
Enchilada sauce was not good.
The only good thing was the guac.
I should’ve known it wasn’t going to be good when the parking lot was empty at 12:30.
