We were staying as hotel guests and had $100 to spend from Amex credit. We went for complimentary drinks during our stay. The fireplace was nice and the place wasn’t crowded which was a plus. Drinks were delicious!

2/14/26 I visited the bar Pendry. I set at the bar for 25 minutes and was not serviced, greeted or acknowledged. The area around me was filthy and not cleaned. After waiting patiently I asked if I can order. It took another 20 minutes to get the drinks. The cups and plates around me still were not cleared. My issue is that other patrons were service without the long wait. I would not return again due to the lack of customer service.

My husband and I booked boozy afternoon tea here and were both incredibly disappointed. The photos of this place are pretty deceptive – this is a room attached to a hotel lobby, not a separate bar. We were directed to a wobbly bar table with stools and harsh overhead lighting, and we rarely saw our waiter. I don’t blame the waiter, but to have one waiter for an entire room is ridiculous. The food was cold and stale, and to the point where some of it wasn’t edible, despite the “fancy” ingredients. My husband also noted in our reservation that he’s allergic to shellfish, but they still served us two lobster quiches. The drinks were fine, but did not match the photos/vibe online at all. The waiter later moved us to a better table which was nice, but we were almost finished at that point. Huge bummer for a ridiculous price point ($268 including tax/tip for two people).

I really enjoyed my time here. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was really good with classy presentation and drinks were a good companion to the suggested food menu. Quite strong though, which is always a good thing in my books. It means they’re not thinning them.

Crimson and Carbide is a good cocktail. The Mull It Over is a little too bitter. Cool and cozy environment with attentive staff. I’d hang out here too if I were rich.

Bar Pendry has the best bartenders! Erica in particular wowed my friends and I during our stay at the hotel. Each and every time we came in her drinks and demeanor were a 10/10. Shout out to Nick our bartender one of the visits and the wonderful Leonardo for his impeccable service! You guys rock!

Had an incredible experience at Bar Pendry! The ambiance was classy yet comfortable, the drinks were spot-on, and the food was delicious. But what really made the night memorable was Isaiah, our bartender and server—he was truly outstanding. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, Isaiah went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. He even helped search through the couch cushions when someone in our group misplaced their phone—talk about service! Can’t recommend this place enough. We’ll definitely be back.

One of our favorite buildings in Chicago is complimented by our favorite bar. Shaun was incredible. Excellent suggestions, attentive and a great conversationalist. We had a great time and will be back soon. Most importantly, we’re bringing friends. This place is a gem.
