Social Profile:

Bar Cilento infuses classically traditional American bar fare with its Italian-American owners’ culinary heritage. Pronounced chee-LEN-toe, Cilento is the region in southern Italy where owners, Sam and Gerardina GiGi Giordano, were born and raised. For Sam and GiGi, the region of their upbringing represents everything they aim to achieve with their restaurant and tavern: A sense of family. A respite from life’s inevitable stressors. And having lived in America for nearly five decades, it’s the ultimate manifestation of their appreciation for American bar staples infused with the culinary TLC Italians are known for the world over. Opened in 2015 – and family-owned and run – Bar Cilento serves as a dynamic testimony

The wings are amazing. Decent in size and flavor. However, I wish they had a dry rub to offer. The Cesar salad was decent. We had ordered mozzarella cheese sticks when we ordered our other food but it was not given to us until we asked for the check. Obviously this was forgotten and we were still charged when our order was forgotten.

The truffle pizza was not good. There was no cheese and A LOT of onions and mushrooms and no cheese. It was incredibly disappointing. The meatballs were good and so was the sauce. The bartender Kelly was nice, polite, and friendly and also had good drink recommendations.

Went on a cold afternoon looking for warm soup. Ordered the French onion soup. Okay noticed covered with Swiss not Gruyère but remembered having years ago and ordered. Totally inedible! Okay it was warm but salt filled chicken stock not beef and glutinous globs of cheese. The little bread squares were delicious and lunch. Waitress verified chicken stock and graciously removed from bill but I left hungry and very disappointed.

My family has been going to Cilento for 10 years. The food is consistently outstanding but what makes it special is the warmth of Sam, Gigi, and staff. They recently catered a repast for my late husband-the food was wonderful as usual, but they went out of their way to treat us like family and helped ease a difficult time. Looking forward to another 10+ years!

Burrata, rice balls, gnocchi, stuffed chicken over wild rice, veal chops with spinach and risotto. Apple crisp and berry pie. All of it was better than I thought it would be, all on point and delicious. No picks of the burrata it didn’t last long enough. The quality was excellent, but I wish it came with some greens. I should have been coming here all this time.

My wedge salad and eggplant rollatini were delicious. I highly recommend Bar Cilento for an American meets Italy dining experience.

Very good Italian food. I had eggplant rollatine stuffed with spinach & ricotta over homemade pappardella ($34). My husband had lamb shanks over pappardella ($31). Everything was very tasty. No bread was offered or delivered to our table. We had to ask for it. I found this restaurant to be a little over priced for the amount of food offered.

We enjoyed such a great meal outdoors on a beautiful night! It was our first time at Bar Cilento and we can’t wait to come back. The Pizza was a fantastic starter for the group and the entrees were delicious.

outdoor area only 5 people outside. Food took over an hour and 15 minutes to get. Only got a chicken sandwich and the other person I was with only got a salad. Waitress never came back to table to check if we wanted more drinks or if we needed anything else. Don’t go here if you are on your lunch break place takes way too long to get the simplest food.
