My wife and I wanted barbecue, so we drove down to Harrisburg to the Bar-B-Q Barn. This is a quaint rustic place, as you will see in the photos. My wife ordered a smoked turkey sandwich. Unfortunately, it was just average. It was more like sliced lunch meat and didn’t have much smoke flavor to it. But she said it was average. I ordered a rib platter, Kicking Ribs, I believe they called it. They were barbecue ribs with some hot sauce on them. I really enjoyed the ribs. They are some good ribs, black on top, just like blackened ends, and the French fries were crispy outside and soft in the middle and spiced just right. The baked beans I had were the best baked beans I’ve had in a barbecue joint in a long time. Still, not up to my standards, but they were quite a bit better than any place in a while. Our server was friendly with a smile and very helpful. Answered all our questions. As I said, the atmosphere is very rustic. Appropriate for a barbecue place.

Always great BBQ here. Crispy fries, the meat really doesn’t even need a sauce but I absolutely love their Sweet Hickory sauce! One of my wife’s favorite salad. Always fresh and flavorful! The BBQ turkey adds the perfect addition.

This was the third time going here and each time has been very nice. Didn’t have to wait to be seated and staff very friendly. Our food was very good and the pie we had was very delicious!! Well worth the drive from our town about 45 minutes away

TERRIBLE service. Our server was so awkwardly rude, I’ve never seen anything like it before in my life. I have never witnessed a person so openly display their misery for being at work. She didn’t even try to pretend to be pleasant. Literally the worst waitress I’ve ever had. The food was okay but it took *forever* to get our bbq sandwiches and they weren’t even very busy. Disappointed in this place for sure.

I had ribs, brisket and pulled pork and all it was amazing! The meat fell off the bone on the ribs. The man n cheese was prefect as well. Had to buy 2 extra pulled pork sandwiches to go. Staff and waitress was very prompt and polite. Highly recommend to try this place.

Have come in before, usually dinner time, and service is quick and friendly. Lunchtime today (1pm) and it took 25 minutes for a burger/fries and a wtap/fries. Then, after the wait, the burger was charred to almost inedible. The only reason he ate it was because he waited 25 minutes and was hungry. Was not even that busy when we were there.

First smells hit me cross the road at southern Illinois laundry, when I walked in I was greeted by our server Macy. She was a sweetheart who knew just what we needed. Brought her favorite sauces for our lunch that was a darn good deal “6 dollar pulled shoulder and fries” and even gave us some local camping tips on where to go and site see. Lots of history in this place, a memorial wall to fallen service men of the area. Stop in and check them out, BBQ, catfish, all the fixes!
