Just don’t bother. There isn’t dedicated staff for the Bao Kitchen food or customers, so you get served whenever the Mongolian BBQ staff have a few extra minutes to throw (I assume) frozen bao into the steamer and then “plate” it for you. Nothing particularly flavorful, nothing good. Food wasn’t *atrocious* but there are significantly better options on all sides.
We ordered:
Chicken & Pork bao – no labels on the bao and we’re still not sure which was which even after eating which is not a great sign
Xiao Long Bao – this was served on a paper tray (so by the time it cooled off enough to eat, it was stuck to the paper and tore) with no dipping sauce except for a tiny side of soy sauce that came with the bao.
Lotus Leaf Bao – pork belly was very overcooked but probably the best thing on the table
Chili wonton – not really spicy, swimming in peanut oil, just kind of sad, flavorless, and greasy
Side sauces: we paid $0.50-$1.00 each for a few dipping sauces and got a half-full half-size sauce container for each. Maybe half tbsp of each sauce?

The concept is good, and the robot that brings you your food is fun, but the food itself was nothing special. I liked the chicken lotus leaf buns, but the pork/chicken/veggie bao we ordered were kind of dry. The veggie bao was also very strongly fennel(?) flavored which was unexpected. Also, if you order drinks they will be from Mochinut which is in the same building. I liked the honeydew smoothie, but was not prepared for the sugary cereal topping Overall, it would be cute to stop by if you have kids (they’d love the robot), and the prices are quite affordable, but I don’t think we will be back sadly.

The place was nice. Bao Bun, Mongolian Grill, and Mochinut were all in the same spot. We tried the Bao Bun. All you have to do is pick a table, scan the barcode, and order online. The cutest and best part was that the food was delivered by a robot. We had popcorn chicken, chicken potstickers, and an oyakodon rice bowl. To be honest, the only dish we really liked was the popcorn chicken. The dumplings were okay, but the rice lacked spices. Still, I liked the place overall, and the staff was great.

I’m a big fan of buns and soup dumplings, and my boyfriend and I have tried nearly every xiao long bao spot in Rochester. This was our first visit here, but sadly it didn’t meet our expectations.
The juicy bao and spicy xiao long bao looked great online, but the dumplings were dry with no soup inside, and the pork filling didn’t blend well with the bao. The buns and baos were thick and chewy, and the katsudon rice was unexpectedly sweet. The matcha tea also tasted more like sweetened milk than real matcha.
Unfortunately, we likely won’t return.

It’s ok overall. The atmosphere is good and they have a very cool robot that roams around. However the ac is lacking here but not at the Mongolian BBQ.
Noodle especially the Tonkotsu was a bit bland and shrimp wasn’t fried enough. Overall the food was not cooked especially well and given that the menu is so small it should have been better done.
The service was ok. They have a weird system in which you pay before you get your food but you are expected to pay tips which is weird since it’s not really a sit down restaurant. Overall it seemed confusing and not well executed.
The pork bao was meh. For a restaurant that advertise about their bao its not very special nor juicy.
If you are looking for good bao, OG dumpling which is right next to it is a better alternative, at least for now.

We decided to come here instead of McDonald. And it turned out to be great. We’ve never expected to be served with a cute robot. The lotus leaf buns are super soft with few combos- beef, cucumber, and Hoisin sauce; Pork belly, cilantro, and yum yum spicy mayo. We also ordered eel rice bowl, Japanese short rice topped with eel that was tender and juicy with the kabayaki sauce. Due to their specialty of their Bao buns, we came back to try their beef noodles, Bao buns, and soup buns, I am pretty sure this is a legit taiwanese restaurant, the flavors was more on the sweet side and I love it. I recommend to try Taiwanese beef pancakes to start, then add some soup buns too. BTW, the mango milk bubble tea from next door was very good too, but it’s way too sweet for me. I know for the fact that it only could be an occasional thing.

The menu was real basic to understand. We ordered xiao long bao (soup dumplings) pork belly bao, fried dumplings, szechuan chili wonton, shu mai, shimp dumplings, oyakodon (chicken rice bowl), and chicken ramen. Over all the food was reasonably-priced. Food was very tasty. Sevvice was great. Place was very clean and maintained. My favorites were fried dumplings and the soup dumplings. Oh yeah they have this cute robot that rolls out serving your food.
Update
My friends and I went back the other day after two weeks since our first visit. Food was still good. Unfortunately either they changed there cooks or food cost the food quality has shrunk. The dumplings are not the same size they are smaller. It was a good experience our first time. If you return you be the judge.

The service is alright and the robot server thing is kinda cool. Sadly food was frozen in the middle, obviously prepackaged and not heated up enough.

The peaceful ambience with little cute Robo was great. We just had few starters along with thai Milk tea and all of them tasted delicious!

Pretty good overall; buns were fresh and juicy. The soup dumplings could use a little more juice. The pork bao could have used more filling for the meat to bun ratio. I liked the Taiwanese braised beef noodles and the cucumber salad.
