Arrived an hour before closing, no one was dining in and the kitchen was very busy preparing many to go orders. So although our food took a bit to come out it was delicious. Meat pies had a nice flaky dough with tasty beef and onion inside. Afra chicken had good seasoning as well as the onions. Plantains provided a nice sweet accent and soft texture that went well with the savory meat, rice, and black eyed pea slaw.

Really good, jollof rice spicy. The rice with sauce was fluffy and filling. I went on a Sunday night so they had soldout of half the stuff i wanted. However the food was great got 3 meals for $65 People working were nice but my only recommendation if you dont like SPICEY let them know in advance and dont look at the online menue because some of the stuff they dont carry or they cold be soldout of what you just got a desire for just look at the menue when you get there.

Strip mall restaurant. Clean and tidy.
Giant portions. Fresh cooked. Spicy or not spicy options. The Afra is lemony and grilled perfectly. Not fast food and the wait is worth it.

Highly recommend this spot for all considering trying something new and curious. I was served by a nice woman named Mary, the food was prompt, flavorful, and a wonderful change in spots for take out. I’d be up for trying other dishes! Would highly recommend the plantains as a side with anything ordered.

The ambiance was simple, clean, and pretty busy for a week night.

Parking lot was full, and had plenty of parking. Seemed like a decent amount of to-go orders too.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Puget sound. Food is really tasty (and really spicy which is authentic), portions are very generous.

Service is great. I was getting takeout but my phone was dying and he got out of his way to get me a charger while we waited.

10/10 Would visit again.

If you have time, I suggest you call in your order. I figured ordering something simple as soup and a veggie rice plate would be quick but no it wasn’t. I had to wait 30 minutes. There was a family of 4 there that said they were waiting for an hour for their food! Aside from that, the customer service was great and the food wasn’t too bad. I ordered the goat soup and veggie jolof rice plate. The soup came with rice which had I known, I wouldn’t have ordered the veggie rice plate…but oh well.
The soup tasted great but was very spicy. So eating it with the Rice made it bearable. The veggie rice plate came with plantains, a piece of vegetable (I don’t know what it was) and cabbage. The Rice didn’t taste like it was cooked fresh, the plantains was hard and I didn’t bother to taste the cabbage and vegetable. The amount of food they gave was alot though, so I ate it for 2 days so I wouldn’t waste it

I went during lunchtime. I ordered the deep fried whole tilapia ($20.99) and benechin-lamb ($18.99). It can take some time for food to come. The food was well worth the wait! Of the two, I liked the fish more, it was a little lighter in my opinion, even with the fish being deep fried, I also enjoyed the vegetables it came with. The benechin came with a ton of really tasty seasoned rice, it didn’t have vegetables. Hearty portions, definitely had leftovers.

It’s so rare to get African food in general so was very happy to stumble upon this small restaurant serving West African (Gambian) food. No frills restaurant with simple decor. Everything was delicious, hot and reasonably priced. Tasty and filling Jollof. Yummy perfectly cooked lamb! I also got the Plasas which was excellent. Especially loved the very loud afrobeats playing from the kitchen.

I’ve only been here once, but I have to go back to try more dishes. The only thing I wasn’t keen on was the amount of bone and gristle in the Afra chicken chunks. I thought I was going to eat while I worked at my desk, but it required both hands and my full attention. No big deal though, it was super delicious and it took some discipline to save some for my wife.

Also: friendly staff, clean space, fair prices.
