This banh mi is one of the best I’ve tried. The bread is perfectly crispy on the outside while still light on the inside, and the overall flavor is really satisfying. Make sure to pour the sauce over the banh mi or dip it in, because it adds a lot of extra flavor and really ties everything together.

I ordered the original, which comes with a good balance of vegetables and meat inside. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. I also appreciated the packaging, it comes in a sturdy box that keeps the banh mi intact and makes it easy to take away without it getting soggy. Definitely worth trying if you’re in the area.

Feels like a tourist trap banh mi spot mainly targeting first-time visitors. I got mine to go and was pretty disappointed with the quality. The price is high for what you get — the fancy box packaging looks nice, but the banh mi itself doesn’t live up to it. The flavor and ingredients were just average at best. Honestly, there are so many better banh mi places around that offer much tastier sandwiches for a fraction of the price. Not worth the hype.

Ate here for my first banh mi in Ho Chi Minh. Wanted somewhere with a lot of traffic just to be careful. I’ve had a few Banh mi since and if you’re like me just don’t worry because most shops in Ho Chi Minh are safe to eat! But if you want to splurge this is really good! The bread wasn’t hot but the meat was really good quality and the garlic flavor was incredible. The pickles are also a really nice touch. Add some chili for a kick!!

Bánh Mì Mẹ Ỉn in Ho Chi Minh City was a great place to stop for a Banh Mi. The sandwich was fresh, well balanced, and very delicious, with clearly quality ingredients and authentic flavors.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even more pleasant. Service was smooth and relaxed, and we felt comfortable from the moment we arrived.
We would definitely recommend visiting and ordering a Banh Mi if you are in the area.

We came here for lunch and ordered three banh mis: the original, grilled pork, and shrimp. The original banh mi truly stole the show – it was on promo paired perfectly with Vietnamese iced coffee, a combo that really satisfied our Vietnamese food cravings. The grilled pork and shrimp versions, however, were just okay and didn’t quite justify their higher prices in our opinion. A small but nice touch is an ornate sink available for washing your hands.
Do note that the shop is located inside an alley lined with massage shops/salons, so it can be a bit tricky to spot at first – but keep going and you’ll find it.
All in all, the original banh mi is so good that we ended up buying it again on our last day in Saigon.

This is a must try place. It’s actually a same restaurant that next bep me inh but this side serves only bahn mi. Bep me int itself is an institution among restaurants and has constantly year after year a Michelin recommendation and for a reason. So this is their bahn mi side and the next side is restaurant side. Both are more than worth a visit. Quality, service, taste and decoration is just so delicious and good. 6/5

Although both the Chicken and the Original Banh Mi’s were tasty (Chicken was better) one of my biggest pet peeves is dishes coming out at different times. Its a good thing my wife likes to share because it was quite some time before my order came out. We also had to chase our server down for the change, after we paid our bill. Banh Mi’s are as common as scooters, so do your self a favor and support a local cart that will make your orders within minutes of each other and give you the right change.

Awesome Banh Mi! I saw a comment suggesting that this is potentially a tourist trap, and when you first look at the menu and prices, you would be forgiven for thinking so.

I decided to do a little comparison between 3 different vendors in the area. The other 2 were considerably cheaper, but the Banh Mi here is seriously amazing and in my opinion totally worth the price I paid. I had the original and the mixed which are the two cheaper options on the menu. They were both huge compared to the other vendors and completely packed with delicious fillings. I can normally demolish two Banh Mi from the street vendors and in some cases could probably fit in a third. After just one of these I was completely full and satisfied. I will now have to go back to try one of the more premium options.

Admittedly I would find it hard to justify spending some of the prices advertised for a single Banh Mi, but as a treat and something a little different to the run of the mill Bahn Mi available on the street, why not?

The service provided was warm, friendly and professional.

The atmosphere was great.

The packaging, separate sauce, plastic gloves, instructions for eating, toothpick and napkin are a great touch and definitely add to the value of the experience.

I absolutely recommend this place for an exceptional and unique Bahn Mi adventure!

Tourists trap. This is an average sandwich for an exorbitant price. Do not waste your money. There are a lot of places serving much better banh mi for a lot less. We got the grilled chicken and we were so disappointed! Nothing special there.

Tucked away inside a small alley across from Ben Thanh market you can find the most amazing Bahn mi around.
From the original classic, to a full lobster Bahn mi, there is surely something that you’ll like.
I chose the pork with crispy skin Bahn mi, and I pretty much inhaled it in a few seconds it was so delicious. The bread is exceptionally fresh with a crisp outside and fluffy inside and the filling is generous.

A perfect spot away from the chaos, and friendly service to match the food. I can’t wait to come back again.
