Reviews
We enjoyed the different offerings on their sandwich selection. The price had increased significantly over the years. Regardless, a good sandwich shop with buy 5 get one free.
Will I return? Yes
Will I recommend? Yes.
My rating. 5 is very satisfy.
Taste 5/5
Temperature 3/5 cold sub
Attentiveness 5/5
Speed 4/5 I knew I have to wait.
The only thing I have been suggesting through out the years. Please provide a good label with different selection. Even though numbers were written on the sandwiches, no one can remember all the selections . This will help their customer tremendously. Sadly, they are not listening and unable to elevate these offerings.
The green jelly is bad.. has an off taste to it..
The bah Mi is soggy and falling apart… they are not using French bread.. just a cheap roll.
Lee’s is better, fresher, larger portion and solid French bread in comparison.
Should’ve follow my gut and went where most locals go. Lesson learned, never again.
The bánh tieu, like a puff sesame bread that’s sweet, is good here. However, it’s sometimes a little over cooked and can be a little hard. Each is $1.75.
The sesame balls are great. Really big and full of mung bean filling that’s perfect. Each $1.75.
The egg rolls aren’t impressive but it could be because they served it cold to me. The Pate Chaud was square/rectangular shaped and its filling is actually pretty good.
I haven’t tried one of the sandwiches, but I might in the future.
Their bánh bột lọc and bánh it tran are the best I’ve had yet. The size is big and super tasty. If I remember correctly, each was $11.
On the topic of their drinks, I personally don’t think it’s that great. I am NOT a fan of their cafe sau da (Vietnamese coffee). It has a weird added flavor and aftertaste that I find very unpleasant, but it’s honestly to each their own cause my parents like it. I feel like there are other coffees at the very same food court that are much better. The coffee was $6 which to me isn’t worth it when the other food court coffee options are cheaper with better taste and more quantity.
Their sugar cane drink isn’t the best either. I’m more of a traditionalist and I prefer my sugar cane drink just purely sugar cane only, but if you don’t specifically tell them (which I didn’t cause I didn’t know I needed to) you only want sugar cane, then they’ll also add in orange juice to the drink which I don’t like. And again, there’s other sugar cane drink stores in the same food court that are much better and provide more quantity as well.
One of which is Bahn Mi #1, which is located towards the back left area of the mall.
For starters, if you eat Bahn Mi in any other state, you know you’re paying anywhere from $2 – $5 more per sandwich, so right off the bat, it’s already a great deal.
For 3 Bahn mi sandwiches, I paid $17.83, which is absolutely INSANE!
On the East Coast, 3 Bahn Mi sandwiches will run you $25 to $30!
I loved the taste and the size of the bread.
I got #4, 8, and 17.
They were all good, but nothing really stood out as excellent.
They were also slightly bare on the fillings.
But hey, once again, at this price point, you can’t complain.
Would I come back?
Heeeeellll yes~
And yeah. One more thing. I wish they wrote the number of ur order on the wrapper, because they write something in Vietnamese and I couldn’t tell which was which.
The bread was light and crispy on the outside and super soft and buttery on the inside. I was literally shocked when I took my first bite. The meat was super tender and not overly salty. I am guessing they process the lunch meat onsite as well as the bread. Not to mention the pickled veggies on the inside were absolutely the perfect combination of flavors with the meat, bread, and fresh cilantro.
Highly recommend this place and they even open at 8am if you want to pick one up bright and early.
Also plenty of parking!
