My dad grew up in Thailand and appreciated the authentic Thai food they served. The owner is very kind and welcoming. Some of the best Pad Thai I have had. We got the fried calamari appetizer, Chicken Pad Thai, and Kow Pad Kra Prow. Glad to know there is a great Thai spot in Hoboken!

Been coming to Bangkok City for over 35 years, Sisi the owner and Gee her niece always greets us with warmth and a smile. She prepares everything we order with love from the Thai Ice tea, Soups, Mee Grob, Pad see ew, chicken red curry, Sate, pineapple fried rice , papaya salad, garee puffs to the mango sticky rice and everything comes out delicious and perfect. This is an old school spot , the decor maybe outdated but we look past all that, it’s the love and care she puts into all her dishes and treats us like family even my picky 16 yo daughter adores this little gem . If you want trendy go somewhere else, we love Bangkok city for its charm and exceptional customer service and delicious authentic Thai flavors!

Good Thai food. The place could use some music and a bit more atmosphere, but overall it was a nice experience. They allowed us to enter with a service dog, which we really appreciated. It was also very quiet.

Went here during a week night and we were the only few in the restaurant.
Sitting down in the booths and chairs everything has a lot of wear and tear to it. Some of the cushions I think have been taped to be held together.. The cutlery didn’t appear to be all that clean either shown in the photos, and the menu was taped together.
The food overall was okay. The soup had a weird taste that I couldn’t get past, and the sauce on one of the chicken dishes we ordered was just so watery.
The service was great and they were very attentive and super friendly.
Definitely a spot to maybe get take out from, but not the first of my choices to dine in.

The food was delicious. Definitely a great find. The pad seed ew with beef was amazing. I was shocked this place didn’t have closer to 5 stars. I definitely recommend it.

I will rate is as average not that great you can find some other good thai places on the same street. I have had better thai food than this. We ordered chicken drunken noodles and chicken satay, chicken satay was nice but drunken noodles were okay, I ordered level 5 spice but they were not spicy at all. The service was good though, the lady was very warm and welcoming.

I really like the food at this place, it’s the best Thai food around here, but the service is not very good. They are slow and not accurate. Today we asked for spring rolls for our appetizer, after all the food was served the lady came to our table with something else and said we are out of spring rolls but you can try these. We were like we don’t want these we want spring rolls but she said you should try these instead and thinking they were complimentary because they didn’t have the spring rolls we accepted it. Then when we wanted to pay for our food the lady charged us for the thing we didn’t order and when I said we didn’t order them she said you had them!!! I was with a friend and I didn’t want to argue so I ended up paying for the stuff but that was unacceptable!
I’m so disappointed that such a great place has such a bad service!
I recommend this place, but be careful about what you order and what you are being served!
